3G TL AT5 problems :( any ideas?

Soooooooo, I've been doing alot of reading.
06 TL

Symptoms:
Transmission slips, almost completely non responsive when warm.

I was driving, and the tranny started to feel as though it was slipping. the RPMs raised near to 5k and there was no power at all. I pulled over, fluid level was good and color was ok. After the car cooled down a bit (20 mins), I drove it and it ran thru all gears perfectly fine and then within about 2 mins exact same thing, no power at all just starts slipping. no strange noise, when the tranny does work it works fine, good shifting etc.

I did a ATF change with NON honda fluid and realized after reading that i should not have done that. BUT it slipped before I did the ATF change too.

Any opinions on what may be causing this?

The car is just parked I am hoping that because the gears and everything else seem fine I can fix this without to much trouble.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I'm thinking an attempt to change the 3rd and 4th gear tranny switches might help (don't drive the car until you try this), and/or send a PM to I Hate Cars as he's the transmission guru here. The final option is take to Acura but you're more than likely going to hear 'you need a new transmission- that'll be $4000' as they just swap the tranny assembly without actually investigating what's specifically wrong. Do you have any CEL on?

How many miles on your TL?

By the way, non Honda ATF should make zero difference here as long as it's compatible with what Honda/Acura specifies. I'm running non Honda brand fluid with no issues.

Mine did the same thing then left me stranded in the middle of the road. Had it towed to my house and it would move but not very well. Had to replace the tranny and mine only had 60000 miles on the car. So good luck with it hope all works for you.

I would always check the cartridge filter to be certain it's not clogged before going further. Over the years have serviced many cars that would not move and it was just a clogged filter. Cheap and easy.

Mine did the exact same thing. I just tore down the transmission and the 3rd clutch pack was burnt. All the others looked good. I don't know what caused the clutch pack to burn up yet?
