what up peeps i have a 08 tls 6spd wen shifting into second sometime i hear the gears grinding but it still goes in a little ruff sometime. what could it possibly be i plan on doing the gm fluid switch very soon can it be my clutch not engaging fully?

 

Either premature wear with the second gear synchronizers, clutch not disengaging completely, or driver error. Do a drain and fill using General Motors Synchromesh Friction Modified fluid, part #12377916, and report back your results.

BTW, if your clutch is failing to properly disengage, you would see problems in all of the gears.

 

also take a sample of your fluid and have it analyzed for metal content. that will tell you what is up inside the trans
