Currently have a 2008 base model silver tl with 174XXX kms on it. Only owned her for 9 monthes and the engines done. Mech thinks the main engine bearing is totally messed up. A new engine is going in please pray for my tl shes gonna need it

 

Prayers won't help, what you need is a good mechanic who'll validate a replacement engine is in good shape.

The interesting thing is, these engines don't typically go Tango Uniform with so few miles on them; did you run it low on oil or something?

 

the J series engine is know for last more than 300k miles if maintain properly. How does you know or suspecting the engine is toasted?

 

probably a tough pill to swallow at 21...
however; cars are machines! replace the broken engine with a used engine and she'll be good to go for another 10 years...

 

Main engine bearings toasted the car sounds like s diesel jetta. Also this engines been in 2 accidents with previous owners
