2008 Acura TL Mirrors

I'm experiencing the common issue of memory settings and side mirrors not working. I checked the fuse and that wasn't the problem so I'm guessing it's the mirror actuator. I replaced one and that didn't fix the issue so I assumed the other actuator was the problem. I replaced the other actuator with the first one I removed. That still didn't work. My question is, is there a way to test the actuator or tell which is going bad? Every once in a while the mirrors/memory actually work so I was assuming only one was bad. What are the chances that both are bad and they still work from time to time? I'm going to replace the other one as soon as I can but I'm staying to think there may be another issue. Thoughts?

Thanks for any help.

I have the same issues with my mirrors, they seem to have a mind of their own though... sometimes the driver's side, sometimes the passenger side. I leave the toggle for positioning them in the center spot - after trial and error this is what I found kept them from lowering when I put the car in reverse... but they always just keep cranking down and stripping the gears. But even with the toggle in the center when I start the car sometimes either mirror will start cranking up for a few seconds and I will have to toggle over to that mirror and re-position it. Quite frustrating and I have no idea how to fix.

Yeah, mind of their own is right. My 04 mt passenger mirror adjusts itself up for 10 seconds every once in a while. Clicking away. Its always unsettling when electronics move without you telling them to.

Yup - same here. I'm thinking about just yanking the fuse, so they won't change on their own anymore.
