Exclamation 2007 TL Type-S | Front Left Popping/Sound

When driving, there is an audible popping sound coming from the front left of the vehicle. No sound while accelerating or driving, sound usually happens when slowing down to 30 or completely coming to a stop. Vehicle also shows some resistance when brake pedal is pressed.

Could this be all caused or related to the lower ball joint? Took some pictures and noticed there was considerable difference between the front left and the front right.

Left Side (Front) (Above)

Right Side (Front) (Above)

Try to compress (with channel locks) or pull apart (screwdriver or small pry bar) both upper and lower BJ to check them. Move wheel side to side to check inner and outer tie rod ends.

Does wheel move forward / backward a lot when braking and releasing brake?

Definitely confirmed that was one of the issues.

Another issue was the Brembo caliper had somehow lost a bolt and began scraping against the rim, so when slowing down the caliper would hang and stop me from braking properly.

So after fixing that, another problem came up:

I've made a diagram to show it simply:

What part is this called and how does it usually break? Anything else wrong that anyone else can see?

The issue is I still hear that front left popping when turning left, but I now notice it still despite fixing the part I thought was the issue.

When I had the car serviced the did the following:
  • Moog Lower Ball Joint (K500117)
  • Remove & Replace Front Left Caliper (Brembo)
    • Dethreaded
Do I need to replace the whole part, or can I unclamp it, slide it, and clamp it back (if it's possible to pull out that part)?

You should be able to feel play in balljoints at 12 and 6 position
The moog ball joints are questionable...
