2007 TL, Third stop light cover

Hi Guys ,

On inside rear window where the 3rd stop light is, it looks greasy and I'd like to clean it. Can somebody tell me how can I take out that light cover our ?

Thanks,

Momyc, if you are refering to the very thin light break strip on the top of the car, hard to explain but if it is, then all you have to do is tug on it and it comes loose, then whip the window down and realign and press back on.

That plastic piece just pops off and then you can actually unscrew the third brake light from the window. I do this all the time to keep it clean back there

Thanks guys.
You're right Lusid , I was refering to that.
I though they are some hidden screws somewhere.
I'll try it this weekend.

There were no screws, it's a snap on type fitting.

I just used a little force and pulled, pop'd right out.

I just removed and cleaned mine; Fantastic worked really well for that. Apparently the people who install these at the factory do so with greasy fingers.

The cover is held in place with 2 spring tabs and 2 ribbed plastic panel fasteners. Grab it with your fingers on each side, near the front and pull it down. It feels like it's "stuck" there at first, but it isn't.

The whole job literally took 2 minutes from start to finish.

I wish replacing the cabin air filter were that simple. It was just that simple with the two Accords I had before this car ('04 and '06), yet Acura decided to make it overly complicated and aggravating in the TL...(?????)
