2006 Acura TL transmission problem

How’s it goin everyone I’m new to the site, I have a 2006 Acura TL 107k Miles automatic, well recently I’ve noticed a hard lunge/bang forward when the car shifts first to second but does not do it under low rpms, all the motor mounts and transmission mounts are new and every other gear shifts smoothly no problems. Any help would be great so I could try to fix this if it’s something that I could do..

thank you

Have you serviced the transmission and the pressure switches?

Went to Acura got the transmission fluid changed didn’t check anything else, what else should I change or do I tried finding stuff about the first to second problem I couldn’t find anything anywhere it’s a hard bang. On high rmps but not on very low rmps

never ever change transmission oil , thats ehy BMW transitions are sealed and they don't recommend ever changing that oul

This is very-VERY bad advice for Honda and Acura transmissions; woe be it to anybody who follows @restron's advice.

Ummm...this isn't a BMW forum, the OP doesn't have a BMW, nor is our transmissions sealed. Horrible advice....just horrible.

To the OP, is the bang because it the shift is delayed and it lunges when it finally engages? Or is it just because it is a high RPM shift? Are there any delays between the shifts? Or are they are all timed roughly the same. Most bangs during shifts will be bad mounts...however if there is a pause between gears and it finally grabs, that has the potential to be a tranny issue that may be improved with new fluid and possibly solenoids.

Clearly you do not understand how transmissions work or how ATF ages. Regarding transmissions failing shortly after a service, very frequently the owner detects an issue and hopes a quick ATF change will fix it. Said another way, the transmission would most likely have failed regardless of whether the ATF had been changed or not.

If you have never changed the transmission fluid in your vehicle and have more than 100,000 miles on the odometer, should you change it now? mechanics suggesting you should just leave well alone if you aren't having shifting problems.

Mechanics are often the source of some of the worst automotive advice know to man. So, who would you trust, a grease monkey or a highly trained Honda engineering team with decades of experience?

As previously mentioned, have you replaced the 3rd and 4th gear Pressure Switches?

Disclaimer, I am a manual transmission bigot, so my comments are strictly based upon what I've read here on this site.

The disclaimer out of the way, my understanding is the only two things you can really do for your transmission, short of repairing it or replacing it with a much improved unit from a 2006-2007 Honda Accord V6 (aka. the AV6 transmission), is to do the 3x3 fluid replacement and replace the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches. If neither of those things helps your transmission, then most likely you're facing a transmission replacement of some sort. I suppose another long shot could be a partial axle failure on your car, but the symptoms don't really point that way.

If the switches don't work and the axles check out, the next place I'd go if I were you is here:

The 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th switches will not affect his 1-2 shift. There 2 more pressure control switches that some people do not know about on top of the tranny. They have a weird name and I cant remember what they are called exactly. There are 2 and they are underneath a panel that has to be removed from the tranny to change them out. They are quite a bit more expensive than the other 2. If I can find the part again, I will post the link.

2006 Acura TL transmission

Hi, I have a 2006 Acura TL, I’m having transmission problems I have 104k miles, and just 2 days ago I changed the transmission fluid since I thought that was the problem, but now my car won’t even turn on, and I’m worried on what I should do, whenever it goes from first gear to second it has a hard twitch and also when I get on reverse it feels like the transmission falls!!

I seriously doubt the transmission has anything to do with your car not being able to start. As for the transmission itself, do a search here on a 3x3 ATF change and swapping out the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches.

Yeah I think it might be my battery then, would I change the pressure switches for my 3rd and 4th gear or for my second??
