2006 Acura TL Parking Brake Shoes - USE OEM ONLY, THE AFTERMARKETS DO NOT FIT
Just replaced all 4 brake corners and the parking brake shoes on my 2006 Acura TL Sport/Navi with 136,000 miles. First time for the front rotors to be replaced, had to drill out the screws holding the rotors on. The rotors were warped otherwise I could have left them on longer! So I used OEM front rotors and I hope to get 136,000 miles out of these too! The rears went well after I finally got the parking brake shoes to fit. Bought Auto Zone replacements and even with A Z rotors, the rotors would not clear the parking brake shoes. Had to go to the dealer and get OEM shoes, paying full price as the car was on jack stands and I had a nice friend run me to the dealer and back. All other aftermarket parts fit fine. So the reason for this post really is
1) OEM Front Rotors good!
2) Aftermarket Parking Brake Shoes BAD!
3) Only use OEM Parking Brake shoes!

I used raybestos brake shoes and brake shoe hardware and had no issues with fit.

I'm not able to give you exact brand name right now, as I don't have the access to my repairs file.
I remember my mechanic just took the brake shoes that fits to the accord. The only problem were the black hubs of the centric discs - they were covered with black paint also in the hub.
BTW. I am in Europe, so the brand may even not exist in US :-)

I have to do this since my rear calipers decided to seize up on me for New Years. Since I'm replacing the rotors anyway and my driveway is on an incline, I figured I would do the parking brake shoes as well. I'm approaching 200k on the ODO so I figured it wouldn't hurt. I picked up a set from Advance last night but after reading here that some of the aftermarket ones don't fit, I gave the dealer a call this morning to see how much they would be - $28 PER SHOE times 4 makes it $112 plus tax. Keep in mind that it only cost me $22 for the entire set at Advance Auto. Please tell me I'm not going to have to get robbed by the dealer for this. For those that have replaced theirs, what did you guys pay? Oh and a "How To" link would be helpful if you have it handy.

I went to my local Olympus Auto Parts during lunch and they assured me that the ones they sell are OEM spec so I'm going to give it a shot and take back the ones I got from Advance. I will be sure to keep you guys posted on if they work or not.
