2005 TL Trans issues

Hi, I am new here and have never owned an Acura but have always loved the style of the tl. Long story short someone I work with had major transmission issues and I ended up buying it.
I feel it may be beyond replacing sensors (I've searched and read alot) Trans will go into gear sometimes but almost instantly begin to feel like it's slipping and then in neutral.

My question is, will a transmission from a 2007-2008 be a direct bolt into my 2005? I've found a few within a couple of hours of me with less than 100k and would like to pick one up. From looking at pictures it seems like the auto Trans solenoid may be placed differently but not by much. Any info would be great thanks. I did search the forum but couldn't find any real answers. Thanks again.

It wouldn't be a direct bolt on. I don't know what all would be involved, but the 07-08 has different mounts and different pressure switches. I'm sure there's a lot more than that too.

See if you can find a 06/07 Accord v6 transmission near you. Those are almost a direct bolt in with the exception of a sensor switch or something like that. Also more reliable than the 04-06 TL transmission. There was a user that had done this swap and posted about it, may help you. Thread name "2007 Accord tranny into my '04 TL... Here we go (pics)"

yes 06-07 Accord V6 AT is a direct swap, you have to retain the AT range switch sensor from the TL. 07-08 TL AT has different harness and the computer are different too.

Ok, Thanks for all the information guys. I will begin searching for the 06-07 accord trans now. I also plan on replacing all sensors and solenoids on the trans before install. Do Im assuming i need to buy the ones with acura part numbers? but will it make a differece?

Keep us updated. My transmission might be going out and would want to go this route as well.

Will do, a friend of mine said he had same issue and it ended up being hist automatic transmission solenoid. So I may change this out first to see if there is any difference in it. Is there a way to test this?

If you can find a copy of the service manual, there are hundreds of tests you can do to figure out the issue! Torrents have it for free.

Could resolve or improve with just cleaning the mesh screen filters within the solenoid:

This should become common knowledge in terms of maintenance and to perform along with replacing the pressure switch sensors and the transmission filter.
