2005 TL surging after I replaced the battery

So The battery died on my yesterday because Im a genius and left the lights on when I parked and started reading a book. Went to the auto parts store got it tested and charged. The battery is good but is in it's last quarter. So i got another one and now when I come up to a sudden stop the car surges, like it wants to turn off. I had never done this before. Does anyone know what it could be? any help would be greatly appreciated. It just annoys me that something so simple like a battery change caused this

The car needs to go through the "idle relearn" procedure-- let the car idle for 15 minutes and it should be fine after that.

Thanks man! I appreciate it. That makes complete sense. I was beginning to think I had fried some highly sensative electrical piece

Valve adjustment recommended at 105K or when they are noisy. It's not difficult to do but if you have never done it it's a bit daunting. Takes an experienced tech under 2 hours to do an adjustment (about 20 mins per cylinder).

Okay well, they werent that noisy unil i put in 5-20 plus lucas oil stabalizer and then shortly after that they became really noisy. Could the lucas oil thickener messed up the callibration or something?

Cast, Lucas oil stabilizer is BASICALLY nothing but extra heavy weight oil and not worth your money. It's not going to actually fix anything except having too much cash in your wallet. Ironically, I did actually find a bottle of Liqui Moly MoS2 (Molybdenum Disulfide) at autozone last week which I have been wanting to try for years since finding out about it as it sounds like the one of the only oil additives worth wasting time and money on, and I must say, it does seem to have quieted down my valve ticking on startup a little bit. The bottle was about 9 dollars, but you're only supposed to use about half of it per oil change so that's not too bad. Their other oil additive, Ceratec, also seems to hold promise based on what I've read, but it's new and I haven't seen nearly as much information about it yet.

yeah, Ill probably go check it out. I think that lucas stabalizer messed up the calibration on my valves though. So whatever you do dont add a thickener to your oil stick to 5-20. it sucks that i didnt know that
