2005 TL electrical issues
I have a 2005 Acura TL with electrical problems. The doors automatically locks around 30 seconds after I enter the car. Then when I turn the ignition, the Alarm goes off. Also, the lights on beeping reminder does not go on if I leave my exterior lights on- not sure if it's related.
Already replaced door actuator which someone else suggested with a related issue. Nothing is wrong with the fuses.

What's happening is that your door switch does not detect that your door is open.
Hence when you unlock your door the car thinks it has not opened yet, and automatically locks it after 30 seconds and the alarm going off is a security feature.
The exterior lights on reminder would not chime also, as it believes your door is closed.
The chime is supposed to only come on after you open your door, but your car thinks its still closed.
That's somewhere to start for you.

Yes - the door lock actuator is the "motor or mechanism" that locks and unlocks the door.
When your door does not lock or unlock, you replace this. Hopefully you didn't spend too much on it.
The door switch sensor is the sensor that tells the car if the door is open or not.
For your 2005 TL, the part number for the sensor is 35400-S5A-013.
This part costs around $5.
Cheers

When your door(s) are open or close does the dash door ajar corresponds with the doors? If so then the switch is ok.
Your problem could be a defective Keyless Receiver Until.

Thank you...I just checked and the door ajar lights come on for ever door but the drivers door.
I paid about $150 putting in the door actuator. I saw someone here with a similar problem so thought that's what it was. I bought the part from Acura and had a mechanic install.

Now unscrew that pin switch, disconnect the wire, and tape it to the door jam. The car should go back to normal.
Or wiggle it it maybe just stuck.

If your MID shows your door is still closed, it's a good bet your door switch went bad.
$5 is not much to try it out.
Sorry to hear how much you paid for your door actuator.

Update. I pulled the switch out from the wire and reattached it...still have the problem. I don't know how to test the green wire.
Also, the interior lights do come on when opening the driver door. Is this related at all? I find it odd that this works and not the door adjar light and chime for the exterior lights.

If the green wire is the one from the door switch that we were talking about then to test it just touch it to any bare metal on the car. Maybe the door stricker (if not sure if thats bare metal try another spot).
It may be easier to use a paper clip to connect the wire to the ground. The screw that holds the switch is a known good ground when installed or just touch the paper clip in the screw hole.
FYI: The battery's negative cable is connected to the cars body... aka "Ground".
The switch is a hot wire. Aka battery positive.
The circuit is complete when the switch wire touches the ground (car body).
When you ground the wire the door ajar light should light up, if not then something else is wrong.
I would double check all fuses with a test light or sudstatude a known good one. Sometimes is not enough to just eye it.
Gound the wire and report back plz.
