Angry 2005 TL 6MT - Headlights are tripping out!

Passenger HID wouldn't work, about 3 days later, took it to the dealer, they said "Your driver igniter and control unit need to be replaced". I was confused, when I took it to them, the passenger was out, and now its mysteriously working, but the driver is now out. I argued with them, that the issue must be somewhere else because it was working fine. Had them check the wiring, and the switch, everything was fine. So I let them replace it (driver). Now the passenger is out again. Then neither would work. Then the driver was out again but the passenger would work. Took it back, they said the new control unit they replaced needs to be replaced again (they paid for it), and I need to replace the other. I wasn't spending that money again, because I'm still not convinced the control unit is the issue. So I let them replace it again. Same issue. Driver works most of the time, then its out but the passenger works, and sometimes neither works.

Its sitting at the dealer now, going to fight to get my money back for replacing that part (which I don't think was the ever the issue). Still need to figure out what's going on, since I need headlights, and i'm sure they will want their 2018 A-Spec back in a few days lol

sounds like no one knows how to troubleshoot.

we cant do shit over the internet, but advise you to troubleshoot by swapping parts one by one over to the other side. if problem follows, then bad parts.
swap one by one...Bulb, then ballast then ignitor. since you paid for new parts, those parts are good.

Do you have any power on the right low beam in the under hood fuse box? With the Ignition and Headlight switches on.

Ditto for the left side? (Driver side)

Got it fixed. One side needed a bulb, the other needed a new ballast and igniter. Still thinking something electrical is going on and may be affecting those parts.

Any guesses as to why my headlights might not be the correct color? They are closer to yellow than blue. Everything is OEM, bulbs, igniters and ballasts.

Had it next to another TL, they are definitely yellowish. Thought it was the lenses, had those recondition, its not that. Prior to the dealership fixing it, they were bluish.

Factory bulbs aren't blue....they will be more of a yellow'ish white. If you feel they are drastically different since they worked on it, take it back and complain. Only thing I can think of is the bulbs aren't seated correctly and you aren't getting the slightly blue effect at the cut-off. Is your cut-off line crisp still?
