sounds like a battery bro. does your IP blink when you try to crank and you hear clicking noises?

if so, thats pretty much what i went through when my battery died.

well it eneded up being the starter (as i suspected) called the dealer and they were chargin me $260 for a rebuilt one. so i did the smart thing, took it out, and HAD IT REBUILT by a reputable shop local to me. then installed it back in and vroom!!!!!!!!

how hard of a job was that? Just curious because I've had cars that aren't so bad, and some that are a total PITA (old 4Runner).

Bad starter but you heard it go *click click.. hmm.. well if it was.. nothing a hammer wont fix! just a few taps.. and off you go..

btw.. make sure you see the parts they use to rebuild them and don't buy some of these shops cheap rebuilt crap.. they may have new housings but when you take the suckers apart it's old carbonized spools.. Some shops (ahem.. Napa) sells this same crap as NEW.. caveat emptor

^I don't think that works on newer starters. Like, they changed the rotor/stator setup.

it wasnt too bad, although a bolt from the battery rack was a pain in the ass to get off because there was limited space to work with

oh and i tried tapping it...and it cranked a little and after that it didn't work

well i ended up having it rebuilt for $60 with a 3 year warranty

Yeah this trick works..... I had a customer in last week whos starter died 2 miles away from our dealership. Roadside would take 2 hours or so to get there, so I went to the site. Smacked the starter a few times and it fired up. 06 TL if I recall right..... Funny thing is, sparks where flying right off the starter as I was smacking it. I replaced the cable and the starter, as the cable was all fried from the starter.

i was told by the acura tlc tow folks that 3rd gen tls are known for bad batteries, etc. i replaced my battery 2x (every 2 years so far, with warranty of course, i have an 05 5at w/39.5k miles), and more recently beginning of the year my starter died which had to be replaced. the car had a difficult time starting in the morning, radio/bt was working, but engine didn't start, so when i got it to start, i took it to the dealer and luckily it failed to start there...they checked it out and ended up replacing the starter. hopefully, that could be your problem and solution.
