2005 ebony dash is ashy

I have a 2005 TL Ebony interior and the dash is Ashy. I have only wiped it with a wet cloth and it has this weird discoloration that is like whitish and ashey. I have a 2003 CL with the same color but this is not happening

Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestion on how to fix it? I don't want to armor all it and get it all "sticky"..

Check out the December 2005 bulletin. It explains the cause and what to do about it. Aerospace 303 Protectant works well as an alternative to the Acura, leaves a matte finish and no residue.

Let's put it this way, the December 2005 bulletin did have information on this at one time. Something has changed since the linked document in the service bulletins no longer has any information on this. A copy I saved does.

It is now mentionned in the September 2006 Buletin, on page 3.

Aerospace 303 protectant will absolutely resolve the issue. Check the wash/wax forums for more info on detailing... but, basically, apply it once every 1-2 months (depending on the need).

Also, I remember reading somewhere that you could take the car in to the dealer and "complain" about the issue. They have a bulletin that tells them to apply their care product to the dash to resolve the issue. I doubt they would do it for you with any frequency, but there's definitely a bulletin from Acura telling them to take care of it.

This is true. I asked my dealer about it one day when I went in fro a wash and they treated the dash for me. When I asked what they treated it with, I was told that the company that provides their cas r wash supplies sells it to them in no name bulk (big help). Where can I buy the 303?

First result in a Google search for "303 aerospace protectant" yields:

http://www.303products.com

Search for local retailers. Call the retailers before you go there, tho. Make sure they actually have some on hand.

Marine/boat maintenance stores will probably carry 303 Aerospace. I picked some up at "West Marine" which is a chain store; there are stores in Missouri in Manchester and St. Charles, if either of those is near St. Louis.
I've heard that a few auto parts stores also carry it, but meburdick's suggestion will save some phone calls.

303 will not bring back the dash after it has already turned ashy! It will help prolong the original look, but it does not have active ingredients that will bring the color back. There are other products for this..............Honda's leather vinyl cleaner works, granitize auto gloss works just off the top of my head
