2004 Acura TL P/S Leak

Hey guys just looking for a second opinion. I just bought a 2004 TL. The P/S fluid has a steady leak from the drivers side. I checked the pump and it’s clean with no leaks. Also the lines coming off are clean. But in the drivers wheel it seems to be leaking from a few places, or just everywhere. The lines going into the rack & pinion look to be leaking and the rack & pinion itself. I took several photos. Let me know what you think? I think I just need to change the rack & pinion and not the lines. But I want to be sure.

Not sure if this is leaking as well?

Well... sway bar is most likely not leaking - you know, the thing at two last pictures.

Grab some cleaner, like brake clean or degreaser (like purple power) and clean everything in the area (put it in spray bottle, spray it around, let is sit, and wash it down with water). When it's clean, it will be easier to tell what is leaking.

If you suspect that rack is leaking internally, meaning seals on the sides, then you can either take the boots off or puncture them close to the rack.
If you have bunch of fluid coming out, then it's 100% that rack is leaking.

Thanks Peter. I’ll clean it up tomorrow and take another look. The boot itself didn’t seems to be leaking. So if it’s not coming from the boot should I look into a different possiblity for the leak? It drains out fast. Every time I turn the car on/off there is a puddle under the car and p/s tank is empty.

Anyway I think what I will do in the morning is put the car on stands and clean it all up. Then hopefully while the car is running the leak will be coming from a clear area.

Just finished taking another look. Cleaned everything off and let the car run. I found the leak. It’s the top p/s line going into the rack & pinion.

Did tightening that nut stop the leak?

Most likely not as most likely it rusted out. Trying to move it might make things worse, as line is probably stuck to the fitting. Best to replace that line with a new one.
