08 Type-S 6MT. Blow Trans? Need Rebuilt 6MT?

I have an 08 Acura TL Type-S 6 speed.

I was pulling out on the road in first gear. I didn't even press it hard or anything and all of a sudden it felt like it popped out of first gear, however it was still in first gear (Complete loss of power to the wheels). Immediately after i started to hear like a grinding sound. The sound is comes from the transmission when the clutch is engaged in any gear, even neutral. There is absolutely no power going to the wheels, nothing but a girding noise. Also, with the clutch engaged and the Car running I can go in and out of all the gears without pressing in the clutch. If I press in the clutch I don't hear the girding noise, but when i engage the clutch you hear the noise again.

The clutch and flywheel were just replaced 12 months ago with OEM LUK parts. And i paid a lot to get that done.

Im honestly freaking out right now. I had it towed to a transmission shop in Maryland.

Can you guys please help me find a rebuild or used 6 speed transmission for an 07 of 08 Acura TL Type-S. I can't find even one!!!!! Any advise will help.

As stated...check your axles, however unlikely culprit with the description given. The fact that it "grinds" even when in neutral leads me to think the clutch or input shaft is f'd up. The only thing that "should" be spinning with the clutch engaged in Neutral is the input shaft. Nothing else should be moving in the transmission.

Definitely clutch or axles. The 6spd is nearly grenade-proof at stock HP levels.

if its doing it at a standstill in neutral with the clutch engaged i doubt its axles bc they should be removed from the equation under these conditions. could b mainshaft related as someone else stated, ive never heard of this before though. honestly it sounds like the clutch disc, given the fact u can select any gear w the clutch engaged and engine running, that should mean the mainshaft isn't spinning w the clutch engaged (it should), and if it were, selecting a gear would not be possible.

if its the disc a teardown will make it evident quickly, and keep ur fingers crossed ur not splitting the case

And if it's the axle, all OP has to do would be to take a gander under his car

why not rule out the simple stuff before tearing out the tranny

Is the input shaft bearing synonymous with pilot bearing/clutch release bearing?

I just had my clutch, release bearing, and master cylinder changed and now my car won't go into any gear. It makes a pretty loud grinding sound after about 15 seconds in neutral. I'm almost fed up with this car.

Sorry I haven't responded. It was the driver side axle, it snapped.

I freaked out for no reason.
