word. Was traveling 55 mph and pressed the gas down pretty hard to get around a slower vehicle. Downshifted and that's when it stuck. Stayed at 55 until I slowed down to about 15 mph. Then it fell back to normal.

yes, it's back to normal now. I was just seeing if anyone else has experienced this. You know, see if it's a common thing. But it is starting to sound like it is not.

if its back to normal and a one time thing, dont worry about it.

sometimes electronics mess up but fix themselves.
I thought you were running around with 55 stuck all the time, LOL next time please provide more details in first post.

no, sorry for being vague. I've only had the car a few months, so I am a little concerned. It's not a huge deal, but kinda annoying. Like I said, I was just seeing if it was common.

This is a good point. I was actually doing 110ish in mine "passing" a Z-3 on a nice open highway and had the CEL flash 3 times. I haven't noticed anything since, but then again I haven't been that fast either.

I would check out NAV screen and see if you have an envelope in the top left hand corner and see if there are any codes that your car tripped when the speedo stuck. I wouldn't be too concerned about it, unless it happens again.

If it were the actual vehicle speed sensor (VSS) that had an issue it might have thrown a code. It probably would've shifted erratically too. Since it stuck there, no check engine light and the car drove ok, it's probably isolated to the gauge or it's controller. So the worst thing that will happen is you won't be able to see how fast you're going but it should not effect anything else.

Now if it were an old school cable driven speedo I could help more.
