My 07 Type S (automatic) has 246k miles. Currently in need of quite a bit of maintenance (valve cover gaskets, timing belt service, likely a valve adjustment, also likely power steering pump rebuild, possibly steering rack replacement, oil leaks from clogged pcv valve, motor and trans mounts). Ive not changed the tranny fluid since around 90-100k miles so im worried how much life is left in the transmission. I checked the fluid itself on dipstick and its still got a reddish tint to it and on a napkin is light brown/gold with a hint of red. Ive debated on selling the car to someone who is more of a DIY mechanic than i am but if its possible i can get to 300k or so it might be worth trying to repair what i can and enjoy the car a bit longer. Just worried the tranny might take a sh$& right after i dump time and money into these other repairs. Just curious what would u guys do if u were in this situation?
