07 transmission oddity. What could have caused this.

Was on the freeway a couple of days ago. Snowy day, so I was only doing 40. Idiot behind me was doing 60 and didn't seem to see me so I floored it to avoid a wreck. Transmission kicked down to 2nd, and the traction control activated briefly as the wheels spun a bit, but it got up to 60 pretty quickly, and I let up on the throttle at which point it should have upshifted, but didn't. It stayed stuck in 2nd at 60 for about a minute. I tried flipping it into "sport shift" and manually upshifting, but it wouldn't do it. So I pulled off. When I got below 10mph, it shifted to first. So just for fun I accelerated again, and it shifted normally all the way up to 5th. Been behaving ever since.

I took it to the dealership. They say they can't reproduce it, and there aren't any stored codes about it. Now I'm a little concerned because my warranty runs out in 5,000 miles, and I'd rather get this solved before then if it's a problem.

Anyone ever had an issue like this?

Yes, it does happen on occasions. Just one of those weird things that our TL's like to do once in a blue moon.

Ahh. Didn't look back far enough. Makes me feel a little better, though I am still worried about the transmission because of all the other stories I've seen about TL trannies blowing up. Seems Honda's reliability has slipped a bit in recent years.

Mine did the same thing about 10k miles ago on wet pavement. Haven't had any problems since. The first thing a thought was holy sh_t, another Acura tranny problem
Dealer said he had never heard of the problem before......just confused the computer.

Same here. Spun the tires for quite a while on a wet road and it was stuck in second until I came to a stop. That was over 20,000 miles ago and no problems. 2nd gear seems to be the default gear if something goes wrong in the computer. Most cars use second as the failsafe. You can still accelerate pretty well without overheating the trans and top speed is still a respectable 45mph or more. Just a computer glitch nothing more.
