07 Tranny Problem??? Help!!
2007 TL Base 160k miles.. Okay, so I replaced my VTEC solenoid and VTEC pressure switch thinking it will solve a problem I'm having with the TL. The symptoms are that when I floor it, the RPM stays stuck at 5000-6000rpm and does not shift to the next gear and at times it will but it will take really long. It also revs to 7000k RPM without shifting to the next gear... In October, I replaced the 3rd-4th pressure switches from Honda, along with a drain and fill with OEM tranny fluid.. I had a scanner plugged in when doing test runs the pressure switches seem to be working fine with the scanner saying "on-off". When I let go of the accelerator the gears shift to their placement perfectly with no jerks. When I drive normal without my foot being so heavy the car drives perfectly fine and shift to all 5 gears. I checked tranny fluid and fluid is at normal level with the color still being pinkish. When I bought the car back in 2016 I checked the service history and it was from a lease and the tranny fill and drain intervals we're on point, when I got the car I changed all fluid including the tranny. What can the issue be? A clogged tranny filter? A faulty converter?
Weird question, have you tried seeing if it will shift when using the tip Tronic select shift when it does this condition.
Worth checking to possibly add to a list that could rule out symptoms. I am strong in-car knowledge however ATF behavior and issues are where I lack the knowledge.
I would also try doing another drain and refill on the transmission fluid, make sure to look at the magnet on the drain plug and note its collection, pay detail to see if there is any shiny metal flakes on it or in the fluid.

Yes, I have used using the manual trip tronic on the test runs and it will still lag to shift to the next gear and it when it does shift, it throws itself hard to the following gear. It does feel like it is a solenoid that is messed up. When I drained and filled last time they're were barely any metal shavings on the magnet plug. I guess I can try switching to synthetic tranny fluid to see what happens. My buddy who was helping diagnose the symptoms is very knowledgeable on transmission repairs and he tells me he believes that the main valve body might be clogged, or that the filter might be clogged, or a faulty torque converter. I just would like to double check and get other opinions before I take out the tranny and send it to my buddy to rebuild it.

It is escaping me what sensors control it right now but I know this transmission waits between shifts till it sees a partial engagement before it completes the shift which is why having some friction modifier in the fluid helps as it helps show the computer and actually make the output shaft engage. Could it be possible the packs prematurely wore or just the TCM has a short or is not reading correctly. (Since it only happens when you floor it).
I would say have a dealer look at it if I didnt know they would just instantly say replace the whole transmission. I would however look for reputable transmission shops near you, ask if they give free quotes and have it looked at.

There are 4 solenoids like the ones in the video.. But 1 is for the torque converter. The other 3 are for shifting. I replaced all 4.

You think maybe if I add friction modifier fluid it will help? And the only solenoid I'm thinking of is this one (part # 28250-RDK-014) which is $300. But not 100% sure I just don't want to throw a expensive part at it like that.
You said you replaced all three pressure switches?, where did you buy them from (trying to see if they were generic or not).
I would advise against it, the DW-1 has enough (more than most) friction modifier in it already. I believe those transmission fix bottles only mask issues or make them worse.

Amsoil in these transmissions is guaranteed to be 100% incompatible. The ONLY ATF you should use in your transmission is Honda DW-1 or ATFs certified to be DW-1 compatible (such as the Idemitsu ATF Type H PLUS or Aisin ATF DW-1).

Every time I did a drain and fill I used Honda DW-1. But a lot of guys I've seen used Amsoil with No problem tho.
Just because some idiot believes the marketing hype of Scamzoil and puts that ATF in their car and then drives it for a few thousand miles and calls it "good", does not in any way mean that ATF is good for the transmission.

Because I noticed you were not in that debate and "I Hate Cars" and "Inaccurate" aren't here anymore to make you angry. Plenty of people did a mixture of racing ATF with DW-1 and I read this entire thread years ago. I'm not even proposing on doing this and Valvoline MaxLife is nowhere close as being a racing ATF. I'd like to hear you lab test results.

Just to level set everybody, my comments are all in relation to one of the many flavors of Honda's H5 transmissions which are still factory spec. If the transmission has been remanufactured with non-OEM parts (especially, but not limited to clutch material), then all bets are off. In cases like that, the manufacturer of the clutch packs may well have designed their friction material to work best with DW-1, MaxLife, Scamzoil, or any of the other ATF they happen to choose. Said another way, I would adhere to the ATF selection the clutch packs were designed for.
