Happened to me once. I was driving it hard (track day) and just starting a new session the CEL flashed a few times, then went out.

It's never come back on since. I figure I might've gotten a couple of mis-fires or some fleeting issue.

If it doesn't happen again and/or the CEL doesn't stay on, I wouldn't worry about it. Any messages in your Nav screen?

On a trip to RI last week my CEL started flashing intermittently well into the trip while on the highway. Now it does it whenever I take it on the highway at speed and the car is well warmed up. Then tonight right after I pulled off the highway, the idle started going nuts bouncing around, while the CEL was still going on and off. Felt like it wanted to stall but didn't. That's the first time the idle thing happened and didn't happen after that. There are no noticable changes in performance. Anyone know what the problem is?

car is misfiring, usually if its on more than one cylinder its the crank position sensor causing the issues.

a blinking check engine light means that the car is having misfires at the moment. It could be caused by a variety of things such as improper fuel mixture, spark, etc.

If it keeps on repeatedly happening, you may want to run a fuel cleaner to clean up the injectors and as well have the fuel lines checked to see if they have the right pressure. As well you may want to check the spark plugs and coils.
