Hi, I just sold my '06 6mt and replaced with an '07 TL-S and am encountering a strange issue. The XM/AUX button will not switch to XM.

My 06 had XM, trying to swap the service over to the new car and I can't seem to get it to play satellite radio. The Aux/XM button didn't work at all until I plugged in an aux cable, in case that helps diagnose the problem. This car had something in the HFL system disconnected to resolve a battery drain issue, just like was done on my '06. The seller couldn't remember what was actually done to fix the problem other than that the hfl system doesn't work.

So, in the process of troubleshooting I checked my XM module in the trunk and it's plugged in. I also checked the nav system diagnostic, the one that you do the button combo to bring up, and it shows all of the links on XM(HIP).ECU as red. So, that would suggest to me that there's something really wrong I just can't tell what it is.

 

XM receiver may need to be replaced. Doesn't show communication?
