06 TL - more problems on the way

So my 06 TL had a subframe replaced about a month ago, and now, it is back for the repair service. This time, I have a noise from a steering rack per the dealer. My rack and pinion and steering rod have to be replaced, but apparently they are on back order and my car is sitting 2nd week at the dealer for the parts to arrive. Does anyone know if these parts could fail as a result of the subframe problems I had in the past? My car has only 28k and I am already tired of the all visits I made to the service.
At this point, I am really hesitant to keep the car past the original warranty, or if I decide so, I will be definitely looking for an extended warranty service.

All in all, I am happy with the service I receive, but I am not happy with the brand itself as it does not live up anymore to the "top reliability" hype anymore.

What exactly was the subframe problem?

thats the link to the subframe thread.

I think that the steering stuff might have been damaged during sub-frame replacement...

Possible. The entire steering rack needs to be swapped over when replacing the subframe. What did the new noise sound like? As I suspected you had the subframe replaced due a small crack where the steering mount ear is welded to the subframe. Nothing dangerous just annoying because you hear an audible click when the mount flexes and "clicks" as the force on the tab changes direction. The cracks are usually about 1mm long on a weld that is about 25mm in length.

The noise I had before the sub frame replacement had been during acceleration and breaking. It was just a tick or two and the noise would be gone until I shifted to 2nd or 3rd gear or until I started breaking the noise would re-occur.
The steering rack and pinion noise was more obvious and audible. I would simple hear load creaking and making left or right turns. It was most obvious on parking lots when I would drive slow and make tight turns, and not so obvious on highway or higher speed (due to wind noise I guess)
Well, I picked up my car yesterday, and as far as noises I am happy, but for some unknown reasons, I have to make 2-3 more effort to steer then before. Does anyone know any idea what could that be? I check the level of power steering fluid and it seems to be fine.
