'06 TL 6mt slow acceleration!!!

2006 6mt tl 118,000, pcd and jpipe, and intake. went on a trip to my cabin and went on gravel road after i noticed car doesnt want to accelerate fast at all, slight rev hang noticed at 4k rpm. my mpg still what it should be got 29 going 85mph. but car doesnt want to accelerate fast at all, intake doesnt seem as loud possible no vtec crossover. its also 95degrees out, i dont know if the cars pulling timing or what or if something is wrong.

first of all; your claims doesnt tell us anything.

how can we diagnose something if we dont know what the problem is....

how do we know the car isnt accelerating normally?

The car does pull a lot of timing in hot conditions. That could be the issue.

you know its not accelerating normally because i said so. its slow, slow acceleration, no torque feeling at all, feels like it doesnt like high rpms. thats how you know. thank you hi speed i was hoping for an answer like that since no codes have come up, im thinking its a combination of the heat and HUMIDITY here in stlouis, our humidity is just out of this world all the time. ill have to see if theres a difference tonight when the temp drops 30 degrees

Heat soak is what it sounds like

I would take St. Louis humidity over Texas

This is a good point I forgot to mention before. The VTEC solenoid uses oil pressure to activate, so if its low on oil the engine will not engage VTEC, but heat soak is a bitch and more likely your problem.

The computer also adapts to your driving style over time and sets throttle response based on that info. If you drive more aggressively the response will be quicker and if you grandma the car it delays throttle response. I remember this from when I first got the car and was babying it during break in. After a while you could try to drive more aggressively and the computer would say " what, your trippin,I not listening to your throttle requests" and continue to accelerate at a leisurely pace. Unplugging the battery for 30 seconds resets the ECU and returns normal throttle response.

I've experiences (what I think) is the heat soak issue and have created a thread on it here. Even with heatsoak, I can still hear and most definitely feel the VTEC crossover. If the OP doesn't notice when VTEC kicks in, something else could be going on.
