'05 TL clutch help.

Hello I'm in the process of purchasing a 6spd tl as my wife's car was stolen Tuesday. I found one that is damn near showroom quality has every receipt from Acura for everything. It dose however need a new clutch. I am wondering if there are any good aftermarket options or if factory is the best way to go? I do have access to all the tools and Isis for the replacement. Just not sure what to get. Any help or expierences is appreciated. As I just joined the group I'll do my best to help where I can im just a little nervous on this one as I've never done the style clutches these cars use.

The stock clutch is the best way to go, aftermarket is going to be more expensive and the stock clutch holds quite a bit of power. The clutch is made by a company named Luk and can be found for pretty cheap on eBay or other sites.

Welcome to the forums.

There's a thread in the Black Market selling a brand new Luk clutch set. It looks like it will fit your car but you can post in the thread and check it out. You can't post threads or sell anything yet in the Black Market but you can reply to threads and buy parts.

Nope going to stay stock except for window tint. The wife just needs a good car to replace the 03 accord that got stolen earlier in the week. Thanks for the heads up on the clutch set.

Question, in the Acura TL shop manual, they mention a special tool to "set" the pressure plate. There are warnings that if the tool is not used the clutch will be damaged. I noticed there is a sticker on the bell housing as well (under neigh).

What or where do obtain this tool to properlay set the pressure plate spring mechanism?

Thanks in advance, my TL 6MT has 95K miles and no clutch replacement yet. Just prep'ing for the future if I need to replace it.
