Stuck brake

Here is the back story,
Washed the car yesterday around 1 or 2, backed it into the garage to clean the windows, went to get in today around 4pm, so just over 24 hours, and the driver rear tire wouldn't spin, literally have a skid mark in my garage from the tire dragging, went to back it back in so I could close the garage and leave and there was a popping sound and the wheel spun. Looked at the rotor and there is a perfect mark of the pad on the rotor. Any guesses what happen? Auto, so no e brake on. Ended up driving it anyways to see if I would have anymore issues and nothing. Only had the car a couple days and I know one of the guys at the dealership, they really do try and find problems and said the brakes are fine during the inspection.

Certain cars are prone to have this problem, but can occur with pads that contain a great amount of metallic material. Might want to drive it before putting it in the garage, or try putting it in Park if AT, or place the e-brake on with MT, remove foot from brake pedal and let it idle for a short period of time before shutting down just to allieve the pressure from the pads.

Common issue IMO. Don't put it way cold and wet. Bad, bad, bad. That 's a recipe for fusing the pads to the disks like happened to you. When you come in from the rain there's usually enough residual heat in the disks to keep this from happening. But when you wash it and then park it you can get what you got. In severe cases you will get a brake vibration for many, many miles afterwards (like thousands) too from the area on the disk where you fused the pad.

So wash, dry and drive it a bit only if to warm/dry the brakes before you park it. A trick I learned is to use a leaf blower to get water out of all the cracks and crevices. It sounds silly but it really works. Start from the top of the car and work down. Get's water out from behind the side view mirrors, gas cap cover, rear license plate, and also much out of the wheels, lugs and calipers. Just like the blower at the car wash but without the scratches (I never go to the car wash) Then you will get far less "spatter" when go around the block to warm the brakes.
