05 Acura serpentine belt jumps half off

Ok. I have been having this issue for about 3 weeks now and I am lost. Everything seems to be lined up except in the power steering pulley. So I changed the idler and tension pulley assembly and nothing. Still doing the same thing. So I got a new serpentine belt and the same thing is happening. Any ideas. Have anyone had a issue with this. I thought of the power steering pump being bad but it moves just fine and it has very little in and out play (about a centimeter). While the belt jumps out on the power steering pulley, EVERYTHING else is aligned. PLEASE HELP.

How much play do you think is necessary to make it do that?

well since it moves about half an inch off of the pulley I figured it would need more than 1 cm..

Any work done to the vehicle just prior to the belt jumping off the pulley? Alternator replacement?

In case it's useful as a point of reference, my pully has no movement (besides turning). Have you tried tightening the pulley nut? That pump does not have many pieces that could account for the centimeter movement. If it's not the nut, the shaft may be worn or the bearings may be worn. Rebuilding that side of the pump is a little harder but should still be DIY.

The car has not have work done to it to cause the belt to jump. Got a ball joint replaced but that's it. I will replace to power steering pump and hopefully it does the job.

a centimeter is a ton of play, maybe u meant a millimeter? there really should be next to no shaft play in any of the pulleys. check your crankshaft pulley too, its a dampener so if the rubber is cracked the outer ring may have some play

I would figure if the crank pulley is bad everything else will follow. That is what gets me. Only the power steering pulley jumps out while everything else is still align. I will check it today tho.
