how much is a headgasket quote? is it necessary to replace the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, etc since he's alreayd going to be taking them out? (that was his reasoning)

imo, i prob dont need to since i only have 53k miles ! so anyways, he quoted me at 2 headgaskets at $175/ each, plus all the other part costs which amount to about $900, and i guess 2k in labor fees? I told him to have my engine sent out to see if it's warped before i spent any more money on this car.. ideas?

 

holy crap, 900 in parts alone? well they better be replaceing everysingle gasket/o ring. no wait i dont even think if itll add up to 900. and 2gs in labor? whats the labor rate there?
and finally why are the gaskets being replaced?
