'04 6 speed / Vibration under load 50-75mph

I have a 04 6speed with 151K . From 50 to 70 under load there is a distinct vibration . I have replaced the intermediate Axle bushing and unfortunately it has not solved the issue.

Any advice or similar issue resolution would be greatly appreciated

Paul

Wheel balance because it's the cheapest.
Then consider changing the axles. Mine has smoothed out considerably after change. Go OEM or go home.

Issues: Vibration during acceleration in range of about 50-75. Smooths out if I set cruise to a minimal shake.

Ordered: Interm axle $260 w shipping and 2 new axles ($150 for both I get special discounts). I will let you know how it goes. Should be installed by Thursday.

I have already replaced 2 out of 3 engine mounts (pretty sure the only one I have left to do is the transmission mount). The boots are blown on my axles so I'm guessing these 2 items will solve my issue. Have already had my wheel balance checked multiple times.

Hi , I am wondering if you have completed the swap of the axles out and the result . I have not got any reliable info from techs.

Thanks!

update:
Items I have replaced: Both axles, intermediate axle, controller arms, upper and lower ball joints, 2 out of 3 engine mounts, and just did a fresh alignment.

The intermediate axle seems to have caused the most issues vibration because after changing that out it subsided a great deal...however, even after replacing all these items and doing the alignment the issue still remains. I can accelerate and feel vibrating..it noticeably moves my fingers...once I get up to 80 and hit the cruise control it will slowly go away and smooth out. It still has a minor vibration when this happens but its not as noticeable as when I am accelerating to get up to cruise control speed.

One of my tires did develop and uneven wear pattern due to the controller arms being so bad so I am wondering if my issue now lies in the tires. My plan is to have the tires balanced one more time but other than that and waiting for a new set of tires I don't really know what the next step is. Obviously, I need to get the 3rd motor mount replaced so I will plan for that and report back with my results.

If your tires are worn unevenly, you're already at a bad situaton to trouble shoot. You check the wheels? That's the only thing left, although should have been first. I chased vibrations in suspension parts when I should have looked at the wheels. Any reputable wheel shop can check your wheel balance.

Yep, Wdpanda, I decided it was time to take my car to Firestone instead of another shop named Hibdons which I had been going to for many years now. I got 4 new tires about a year ago and Hibdons claimed to have properly balanced and mounted them. They didn't balance anything. The issue has been there since before they put the tires on but at that time I also needed new axles, controller arms, tierods, interim, etc. It was a mess. So, after replacing all of that stuff and getting normal rotations, the issue persisted. Hibdons also performed and alignment and checked it twice, claimed it was good...Hibdons also replaced my left caliper because they stripped a mounting bolt while taking it off to replace a hub they jacked up by over tightening my lugs.

Took the car to Firestone and they actually did a good alignment and noted that it was WAY off from where it should be (they could not adjust the drivers rear tire as the bolt was stuck - makes me wonder if Hibdons screwed it up too or never even adjusted it), replaced 1 tire for a nail too close to the sidewall, and balanced/rotated my tires. 99.5% of my shake is now gone. Next on my items to replace is the rotors and calipers. Car has 178k on it so its high time they get done.

Didn't you check the alignment sheet to see the before and after numbers? How would you know if they did an alignment if you didn't get proof of it? And if they didn't provide a sheet, you need to run as far away as possible because they just scammed the hell out of you.
