*HELP* 2008 TL Engine Noise
I have a 2008 TL. Currently have about 17.5K miles on it, but I began to notice the noise around 5K. The noise sounds like a flutter / sputter / ping / light knock.
The noise occurs when:
1) the engine is warm and has been running for a while
2) from complete stop, light acceleration between 1000-3000 rpms at low speeds (less than 40 mph)
3) environmental temps are not a factor as I hear it night and day with temps ranging from 50-80 degrees F.
4) only heard when car is in Drive. when I put the car in Park or Neutral and I rev the engine, I do not hear the noise (or it just isn't as noticeable)...
5) the noise seems to be coming from the passenger side of the engine bay or just underneath.
I took the car into the dealership and they replaced the heat shield per TSB 07-026.
The noise still exists and the tech admits to hearing it. I was told that the noise is normal, however, on another occassion, I was also told that they called the Tech Line and are aware of the concern and that I will be updated if a solution is found.
I frequently drive with the radio off and the windows up, so the noise is rather obvious and consistent to me. I know other ppl have this exact problem. (The loaner Acura gave me while they were working on my TL exhibited the same noise!)
Any insight/suggestions/recommendations/solutions are greatly appreciated!! PLEASE.
THANKS!!!

Since day 1, I have always used 91.
And why would I only hear it when I'm in Drive?
Also, is it possible that it's the serpentine belt? I think I've seen it being mentioned as a potential culprit before.
