Windows Tinted

I just got windows tinted today on my car, the shop was recommended by the dealer.... and they used FORMULA ONE film. well this shop got a good reputation and i asked them like several times about moleskin... and they said they dont install it and my car wont have problem. I know some of u will flame but i went w/out moleskin and we'll see if i get problems in few days, the shop said if anything happens, just bring it back but they haven't seen any problems with 04TLs, btw this shop does tints to like MBs, BMWs, and etc... so well anyways i'll take pics 2morrow.

oh yes and i got 5% in rear and 50% in front.

Where are pics, Jatt?

Experiment? I like this idea, please roll up and down at least 20 times per day. (I have no "moleskin", either.)

Formula One is good, non-metal/ceramic tint?

Beautiful PWing. One post to say what he did, another to say pics'll come later, and finally another when the pics actually show up. Maybe even one for each pic. At least three posts where a non-PW would only have scored one.

That's a long way of saying:

Jatt, good pics and tints. No problems with Navi or Radio/XM so far?

BTW, u'r sure CA cops won't give you any trouble with that tint, right?

rets, no problem with NAVI and XM and cops can give me trouble with front tints but its 50% so some of them wont bother, 5% in rear is fine, thats legal.

jatt, i haven't installed moleskin either. i stuck my finger inside to feel the inner lining and it didn't feel rough at all. just got the car tinted today so i'll have to wait about 5 days (just to be safe) before i can experiment.

Probs with NAvi

After having my windows tinted, every once and a while I have a problem with the NAVI. I thinks that I am in some other city, near where I live, but totally wrong location.

I don't want to Jatt's thread, you may start your own thread and state what tint/film you're using. If it's metallic, you may get some interference.

But, if it happens occasionally, it may be caused by your locations...

Navi receiver is around the right-rear deck.

Jatt you need to find out what type of Formula one tint they used. They make 3 diffrent kinds I believe. I know 2 of them for sure. 1. Is a heavy metalic that usually has a life time warranty. 2nd. Formula is "Pinnicle" brand new stuff and it is ceramic cost more than the other. 3rd, is there Dyed tint They claim it wont fade but most people claim it turns purple after a few years in that CA sun. Hope this helps. Im in a bind myself there are only 2 formula dealers near bye, 2hours away. Neither of them install Pinnicle so now I have to find a place that sells ceramic tint. I hope this helps. If they give you some crap show them in the manual were it says about metalic tint. They have to make it right.

Looks good. I have an appointment for next wednesday to get my 04 TL done. I'm going to go with 5% in the back and 30% in the front. BTW how is your visibility with 5% tint?

Jatt, had my windows done with Formula 1 Pinnacle (only shop in town). I went with the ceramic instead of the mettalic because of issues with reception. Cost a little more, but what the heck. The owner told me the same thing about moleskin. They haven't had problems with the rears, but only on the fronts. I rolled them down several times and have not noticed anything yet. I did find couple of bubbles and gonna get that taken care of next week. I went with 35s on the rear and didn't get the fronts done. They only do a clear on the fronts (CA Law). I want to get something light on the fronts and will have to find another shop to do that. Any hassles from local law enforcement or HP on your tint? BTW, your ride lookin good.
