Vinyl Is Final
Vinyl Is Final
Started this grill project at 3:30 and just finished now. A lot of work but worth the effort. I am doing a DIY with step by step pictures on how to do this mod. I know someone else did one a while back but I am sure it will answer most questions. Look out for it this weekend.
Here are the pictures.

WOW looks GOOD!!!!!!!!!

i was going to get it painted back and do the floating (A) but the paint on the metal strip is prone to chipping off. This looks like a much better way.
where did you get the mesh grill? please do a write up on how you did it and the parts you needed. i would love to add this mod to my car.

WOW looks great man! Welcome to the club! Yeah it is a pretty strenuous project. I bet the more and more people that see this mod, the more that will do it. I get questions all day about this mod yet very few actually want to try it.
I was going to do vinyl long ago but opted for body color and CF. The main drawback is that the paint is always chipping on me, vinyl is a lower maintenance option. I see you went with quite a fine mesh. Is it powdercoated? But the look transforms the front end and makes it so much more aggressive and sporty.

Nice! Welcome to the club!
May I ask where you got your mesh? It has a nice black finish on it. My black alu. mesh is fading or something, in direct sun it looks discoloured.

The chips are a lot of chips under the vinyl from the 160,000 highway miles and my air bubbles from my horrible vinyl job. I may be having the pros do it in the future...This is a test to see how the vinyl holds up.
You and a lot of others.....It has a new home with all of my other old emblems from my old job...

Thanks ABP
Looking forward to the meet....It isn't a perfect job by any means but t serves its purpose.

You and everyone else so I listened to the my peeps and took your advice...
