I’ve had my 2006 Redondo Red Pearl 6MT since November 2011. A few days before I took delivery, I was fortunate enough to find Acurazine. What started out as a nice family sports sedan purchase has grown into a quest for individualizing the TL to suite my taste while maintaining spouse approval… and that’s never an easy task
I liked the look of the ASPEC rear but wasn't sure if I liked the front, and really couldn't tell much difference in the sides, so the first mod was to have the Acura dealer price-match and install the rear lip. They also had a tint special with lifetime replacement warranty, so I went with 30% all around (in FL you can go darker in the rear windows but I'm not a fan of the mixed tint look). Here she is at 40k miles and two months into ownership -

Being somewhat performance minded, my browsing of the forums turned to finding out what easy add-ons were out there. Although i didn't really get the reference at first, it seemed like jpipes (what the heck are those?) were a pretty common and plug-and-play item. I also found the "greatest $67 mod" thread which looked, well, great. So next up on the mod list was the RV6v3 pipe (hooray Black Friday sale) and the staggered tips.

The jpipe gave a little deeper tone to the exhaust but I wanted a little more, so after much hesitation I deleted the middle muffler. That sounded better, not perfect but better. While I was at the exhaust shop getting the MM delete I mentioned that I loved the install angle of the quad tips, but they seemed a bit hidden, so they added a small section of pipe and pushed them out a little further. Before -

After-

I thought I was pretty much done, but thanks to the forums once again, something else caught my eye - the Accord fog light mod. Might as well get this done too. Oh yeah, and the aluminum trim look so much better in black...

BTW as most of us know, the audio isn't that great either, lol, so lets look into the audio section of Acurazine! (like I wasn't running out of $ already). I was one of the people who tried the "plug and play" amp from Uncald4 to see how it would sound with the factory speakers. Not bad for an easy swap. It basically increased the loudness and slightly the sound quality. I'm no car audio guru (mostly home theater) so the PnP nature of this mod appealed to me, and yes there are trade offs when going with this solution but I was fine with it.
By this time I had met another Azine member that lived in central FL and he was looking to sell his sub + enclosure. I liked the clean look and the price was right, so I was on the road to speaker upgrades before I knew it. I took a chance on Hybrid Audio for price vs. performance and am pretty happy with the Imagine / Mirus combo. I also found a used JL XD600/1 amp for the sub (the 4 channel PnP amp has RCA outs for the sub but doesn't power it).
PnP amp in stock location:

XD600 under passwenger seat

uncald4 enclosure with 10" JLw6v3

The same guy who sold me the sub also ended up trading in his TL, so before that happened,we swapped wheels. Hello ASPEC 18x8 satin finish (i.e ebony chrome -woo ha!) And why not add the ASPEC front and sides while I'm at it...

Not too long after the wheel swap I became interested in the ASPEC suspension as it’s made specifically for the car, engineered by Acura and modestly dropped the ride height. Huge improvement in handling and the ride quality is still great. Added the Progress RSB as well (soft setting).

More on the way...

I've always admired your RRP; it's one of the few I've seen modded on here, and tastefully at that.
Great to see your progress, and glad to see you came around to liking the front and side A-SPEC pieces enough to add them on!
I really need to find me those rims!

Thanks Steven. I have a few more updates coming soon. I love the RRP - it's a classy and sporty color in one, IMO
This one was purely for show. I've never paid much attention to rotors until I had a gouge in my driver's side front rotor. There wasn't enough thickness left on the rotor to turn it out. I went with some generic fronts but those started rusting pretty quickly on the vanes and hub, so my mechanic was nice enough to take them back and in their place I took advantage of the Brakemotive drilled/slotted package. I don't drive the TL hard, so I'm not concerned about some of the track performance issues that cheaper rotors can have. So for me, it's just for looks

As many 6MT owners know, the factory shift knob can show some nicks and scratches after several years of rowing through the gears. The 4G 6MT shift knobs are a worthwhile replacement at a lower price than 3G version

For me I wanted a plug-and-play sports suspension + Acura quality. I added the Progress rear sway bar at the same time I did the ASPEC, and all I can say is
Nice progress on the ride man! And definitely talk to JnC about doing some headlights...very reasonable pricing and top notch work. I'm sure there are many other members that will agree with me in that assessment. Plus he has a trade-in program if your TL is your daily driver and can't suffer any downtime. I like the direction your ride is going...great color too! Keep it up!
Thanks guys for planting another seed in my head about the headlights. Starting to think about the JnC route a little more. Maybe v2 blacked out, keep the amber and paint the chrome bars black. Don't know if getting the headlights out requires the bumper to come off though. Decisions, lol.
So, just for kicks, I decided to put the TL on the DynoJet available at a local performance shop. $50 for 3 runs wasn't bad I thought. AFR would have been extra and since I was just doing it out of curiosity, I passed on that info.

I found a thread in the audio section about using the camera module from an '03-04 MDX coupled with a custom wiring harness sold on eBay to turn your '04-06 nav screen into a backup camera display. Turns out the guy making the harness lives about an hour from me. Some Honda/Acura salvage place in NC had one available, so I bought it.

I took him the module, paid for the harness, camera, and install, and now I have this when I throw it into reverse:
(sorry about the large-ish pics, photobucket resize isn't working too well for me, lol.)

I like the look of the ASPEC wheels, but they are a little "hidden" with the +45 offset. I thought for a while about spacers, but waited until a good quality set popped up in the BM - H&R 15mm and 20mm. Finally got around to installing these. I'm running 245/40/18s on ASPEC suspension with no issues so far.
