Thanks Stephen! I liked the idea of H&Rs because they are a bit of a premium spacer and the natural aluminum finish would blend in with the wheel and rotor.

Thanks! When I joined the forums shortly before I bought the TL, I found this post https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/greatest-%2467-mod-779675/ and thought they looked great. The price had gone up a good bit from the original vendor, but an Acurazine sponsor (SoCal Sports) has them for sale for a good price http://www.socal-autosports.com/3-quad-exhaust-tips

I like your idea of buying the 4g shift knob, mine is defintely showing some good signs of ware probably going to have to make the move on that soon.

Thanks! I saw the 4g shift knob in another thread and gave it a try. I've had it for about 4 months and its nice not to have a nicked up shifter. Unfortunately for other 6MT owners, the price has doubled recently.

Quick question. If the 245 (verses 235) represents the tread width and the 40 represents the sidewall height, how do 245/40's fill the gap more than 235/40's would? Seems like it would only pull them out of the fender a little, but not fill the gap between top of tire and fender.

I ask because I'm close to buying tires.

The profile is actually a percentage of the width. So 245/40 tires are slightly taller than 235/40 tires (245mm x 40% = 98mm vs. 235mm x 40% = 94mm).

I appreciate it You're TL looks pretty aggressive. Keep it going! I'm hoping to see some modded headlights at my first meet in a few weeks. That may be the next mod if I can get the bumper off, lol.

- I'm leaning with the same approach as you. I'm sure the handling impact is minimal. Thanks

I'm sure you're tire selection will have a bigger impact on handling. I run Pilot Super Sports and they are excellent. In fact I have a new set on the way.

After reading your thread and others, I'm 99% certain I'll end up going with the Michelin Pilots Super Sports. I'm hunting for a good price now. Do you buy your tires online?

You will like them. A lot, lol. Sams Club - $231/ea They have a $70 instant credit that ends today (4/20). If you go this route, you may have to order online as I think their clubs are closed for Easter.

After rebate and including tax and install my total was $977.76 Sams has lifetime balance, rotation, and hazard protection included with tire purchases. They should be arriving this week.

With family yesterday. Missed this. Hopefully they run that promotion again in the near future. To be clear, are these the tires you ordered http://www.samsclub.com/sams/p245-40....ip?navAction=

I agree it's a big number, but for the PSS, it's cheaper than Tire Rack and other online options when you figure in shipping, plus install charges. In my experience, Sams includes things that other places charge for item by item.

Nope - I didn't get the ZP model (I guess that's new?). The link you have is about $100 more per tire. I'll post the Sams item number and your club should be able to punch it in. They were $231/ea. before the instant savings.

I followed your lead and advice and went with the Aspec suspension. Love the fact that it's not slammed but looks great all the same and remains factory. My next upgrade will be spacers. Are you happy with the H&R's and is 15 & 20MM the way to go?

Glad you are happy with the tire/aspec setup! I like knowing that the suspension is tuned for the car, and it certainly looks great, IMO.

As for spacers, the H&Rs have been solid so far. They looked and felt high quality when I put them on. And I really enjoy the look. I do think the rear shows the camber more though since the wheels are more visible. With the 245s, there are some slight and partial rub marks on the rear tires only. I don't see any evidence on the inside fender lip though. Overall, I like a wide tire, and *if* I could do things from scratch, I'd choose a 10mm front / 15 mm rear (both with built in studs and from a good manufacturer of course). But I do really like the suspension/wheel/tire/spacer combo I have. No complaints

Interesting. Would you go smaller only due to the fact that the larger shows the camber on the rear tires?

Probably only to make sure my 245s stay unscathed. Plus I like how the 5mm difference between spacers make the wheels look even. However, if I ran 10/15mm then I would certainly require them to both have the studs built in. With the 20mm rear, the 245s aren't showing any additional rub, so like I said before, I'm happy with the performance and looks

What setup are you considering?

I'm thinking either H&R or Akita. Torn between 10/15MM and 15/20MM

I am literally going to everything you have done to your car eventually to my 2006 RRP TL. Keep it up buddy, great looking car! Where did you source the ASPEC lip kit from and do you mind adding prices? Were they all pre-painted or did you have then sprayed?

Hey thanks for the kind words. I still have a few items to get to but I'm pretty happy with how the TL is currently.

I had the rear ASPEC installed from a local Acura dealer and bought the rest from Bruce (AckTL) and installed it myself. RRP is a great color and once you are ready to pull the ASPEC trigger, get the whole kit at once as they are likely dwindling in supply.

Lastly never underestimate the benefit of the "it's paid off" mod, whether it's a car or a student loan, lol. But I feel ya, it's hard to not look for the next component to upgrade. Good luck and post any questions - I'll try to help as much as I can

Any update on the spacer choice? If you went with 10mm fronts did you find some with built-in studs? Visually, it looks like I am getting some slight rub on the rear tires only, but I only noticed a small mark about 4 inches long, and only on the right rear.

Tomlison-

Shocker that you and I just PM'd about your exhaust setup. I guess my cars just wants to instantly turn in to yours haha. If it was my choice and money wasn't the issue at hand, my car would already be done or close to it! Nice looking TL buddy, I can't wait to see what your next mod is going to be! Any ideas? Have you thought about a short shifter/bushing upgrade?

I like the shifter as-is, so no-go for me on changing that. However, I do have a list of upcoming items that I already *have the materials for*, but so far haven't set aside the time to do them lol.:
- GM syncromesh fluid
- LED interior trunk light
- front door panel sound dampener
- milled MDX manifold spacer - although there are a bunch of helpful pics missing in the IM spacer thread. Maybe an issue with the image hosting service
- P2R throttle body spacer
- Clay, paint correct, polish, and seal. I've never done it before, and my Porter Cable DA polisher is still sitting in the box, lol.

(sorry about the large-ish pics, photobucket resize isn't working too well for me, lol.)

Hey,

Do you remember the wiring harness you bought from ebay? Also, did it connect in the trunk, or behind the Navigation screen. Finally, do you know if it will work with any camera, or just the acura camera from the MDX?!

Thanks in advance for your response...

Oops. Sorry, I hadn't checked my own thread in a while, lol. But the eBay seller was hondaacuraexpert or something like that. He tapped into everything from the trunk and yes the MDX camera module was specifically that year, but his harness could use any camera, iirc.
