They're finally here!....well, at least 1 out of 2 things are.

You guys have been on me to lower my Type S for a long time. I finally gave in and ordered H&R Sports Springs and a Progressive Rear Sway Bar from HeelToe Automotive.

The RSB is on backorder, so we're anxiously waiting for it to arrive.

It took a little longer than we expected, but they're here. Tomorrow morning, they get installed at Jay Wolfe Acura in Kansas City.

This is how it sits today, but not after tomorrow.....

More pictures for you tomorrow after the install.

H&R's ride VERY nicely, especially for being lowered, only think i might say though, is to also replace the shocks at the same time depending on the mileage, and that is also partly from saving you having to do the job twice, once for springs, and once for shocks

I've got only 44,444 miles on the Type S now. It will cost more for the install than the price of the springs. I'll keep an eye on the shocks-thanks Friesm.

44k miles, starting to probably get a little on the softer side, depends on the history of the car, and roads it is normally on (i have done front shocks before at like 50k miles on a GX450 [expensive suckers too, and a dealer only part at like $300+ PER][even the customer was hesitant to do it, due to recommending to do only due to it leaking some; but afterwards they where happy they did though, because the ride quality improved significantly enough for the wife to even notice]; was kinda early but not unheard of before though; btw vehicle was completely stock too)

other nice thing about the H&R's is that i still clear SHIT, no real slowing down for too much stuff (at least on my 2g)

shit i still fit over curbs WITH the factory lip kit, barely though, but i do though

Nice job Steven! Looking forward to it. Pairing those springs with the RSB, handling will be night and day...trust me. I'm on Tein H techs w/ the Type S RSB. Feels a lot more planted than stock and turns are much more fun! I love it!

Good choice on springs. I did a lot of research on springs before I got my setup and I ALMOST went with H&R Sports. In the end, I wanted it to be another 0.5" lower and I wanted dampening adjustability, so I went with the Supercup Kit instead. IMO, the H&R Sports are best if you want a nice looking modest drop, without compromising ride quality.

Can't wait to see the after pics...

The springs (from HeelToe) were around $250. I'm not sure how much the install will be. Jay Wolfe Acura told me that they will work with me on the install price.

Hey Steve, did you ever consider doing the aspec kit instead? Im not sure how much the H&R springs were but like some people have already said it might be advantageous to do the struts at the same time.

You should consider removing your back seat before you bring it to them. If they aren't familiar with it, that could add an hour or more onto your labor fees.

Andy, if you're talking about the Aspec spoiler, no-I did not. I actually don't like the way it looks on a Type S. I do like the Base TL Aspec spoilers. If you're talking about the Aspec suspension, I didn't consider that. I've read good things about the H&R's, and with Marcus' help from HeelToe, I selected the H&R's instead.

I did not do that-it's already at the dealership, so we'll see what they come up with.....

Waiting to see the "After" Pics.

Hope the dealership doesn't nick you too bad - I know you've got a good relationship with 'em. Even though, I assume it's gonna be $300 - $400.

I've run mine 39,000 miles and a bit over 3-years with no issues on stock shocks (so far ).

Bent-you're good man! Thanks for the PhotoShop job! I really appreciate it.

The Type S logo stays where it is-I like it above, not below (sorry mrlal). If it's good enough for Ferrari, it's good enough for me.

I had the dealership install them because if something happens, I have recourse then! Plus, non of my Acurazine friends here in Kansas City have the proper tools to do the job with me.

Well guys, I just called Jay Wolfe-they had to get a rear camber kit for the Type S. The springs are installed, but the toe was out, so the camber kit gets installed first thing in the morning.

Sorry-I'll have final pictures tomorrow.....

An Acura service department that doesn't know how to remove the back seat in an Acura!? Hed Asplode!!!

Looks good Steven.....I would think about upgrading your shocks within the next year. Something like a Tokico HP would be perfect for your setup.

Camber kit? Didn't expect to hear that... But then again, the dealer is doing the work and probably wants everything that they do to be within spec when the car leaves their garage. That would make sense.

Congrats on the new mod. Betcha that it will look sweeeeet!

Yea, I was actually afraid they were going to want to put one on. But they found one very inexpensive. And they want it perfect when it leaved their garage! The rear toe was not off that badly. but since the camber kit was not too bad, I said to go ahead. they were SO worried about tire cupping.....

Me too. I've been running about 0.5 degree out of spec in the rear (negative), with no real issues. The other side (rear) is just barely in spec and the front are in spec.

Not sure it's really required; but it is necessary to meet the target camber number.

Not sure why they need the kit to get the toe adjustment though.

Not sure why they need the kit to get the toe adjustment though.
because depending on the natural arc of the arms, it may have pulled the toe out of spec (remember it does toe-in, or is out :pounder: when the suspension gets compressed/lowered), and basically there is not enough adjustment range in the eccentric bolt to correct it, so the reason for the kit being needed

Can't wait to see the setup as you are the one who inspired the look of my front end when I first joined. Now I have taken the front plate off and have some fake carbon fiber letters as well. I have been debating either the HR or Aspec kit so thanks for taking the plunge and look forward to your thoughts.

^^^ Hey, thanks Spampy-I appreciate those kind words!

In the midst of all the springs excitement, I forgot to show you what else I did, but not to the car. And since I have no new Type S pics for you tonight (as originally hoped), I do have one more new thing for you.

When the Type S comes home tomorrow, she will have a new garage floor! Story...I just remodeled the kitchen and master bathroom of my house. I also painted the entire interior as well. A realtor pointed out that the garage is so clean, except for the floor (which is cracked, has divets and paint marks that won't come out). So I ordered a G-Floor from Sam's Club to finish off the look in the garage.
