TaLon Progress Thread ('08 TL-S CBP)

Been lurking around forums for awhile now and thought id just make a progress thread and share with the community

Had my TL-S for almost 2 years now and I've been slowly building it up. My plan is to turn it into a track car in the near future so any advice or suggestions would be well appreciated

And here is the beauty

I hear ya, I want CF but it's so expensive for something I'd rarely see. I plan on vinyl wrapping it

+1 on the CF vinyl.

The flames look very out of place *CARTOON CAR*. But if you like it, thats what matters .

What does the bracing do?

Its awesome really felt a difference in cornering with just the side braces. Just installed the front one today but havent tested it out yet :P

Yeh its just something like a "eye catcher" i guess lol I was getting bored of looking at black plastic The bracing improves the handling and cornering of the vehicle as far as I know, I really felt a difference when I put them on. Good investment i would say

Underhood paint job looks like something out of Call of Duty IMO.

I like the rest though, especially the RV6 J-Pipe.

Lol thats pretty much where I got it from :P

Quick question for anyone who can answer: My front underbrace is touching the jpipe, will this cause any problems in general in the the future or will it be fine? I dont think its rubbing cuz its snug against it but ill have a look at it when I get home.

If it is rubbing it most likely will cause problems. Just because it is snug doesn't mean it won't move. When you drive your motor moves, which will cause the j-pipe to move as well. Overtime you may rub enough to put a hole in the J-pipe or damage the brace.

You can modify the brace or just remove it, I doubt you will even notice it if you take it off.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll try to modify the brace somehow first. If that doesnt work out, then I'll remove it completely.

LOL. Nice progress. I always enjoy custom work, but you the drawback of having custom stuff done is that it may not always come out looking good. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and start over. Just my opinion though.

Bboy-I know that another member has the braces, not sure if all of them. Member-Morrisey25 (spelling?). I also remember a post I think from TSX members who had to put some washers in between the brace and subframe where it mounts, to avoid this issue. <-don't quote me on this, and I am not sure of the ramifications, but it may help in your search....or just call Marcus @ HeelToeAuto. I don't have the braces, but very interested!

I'll look into this, the washers sound like a good idea. I was thinking bout grinding down part of the brace so it would clear it but this sounds like a better solution
