Angry Some People Just Cant Drive!!!!!

So im double parked in front of my building and i get in the car about to leave. As im putting on my seatbelt i hear BOOM!!! im like what the F#ck, i see my mirror turned foward. some idiot in a construction van hit me. And the thing that got me pissed is that he had all the space in the world to pass because there was no cars parked across from me. After he hit me he tried to run but i got him

And you find justification for a lawsuit because some knucklehead took off a mirror? Great use of our judicial system. Nothing personal, but IMO that shit is frivolous as all hell. If there was bodily injury, I might be more sympathetic.

OP: Sorry about your mirror. It was obvious that this guy wasn't paying attention to his surroundings. At least you caught up with him. His employer should be more than willing to cover the cost of repair, and I'm sure he will get what he deserves.

Dude, I did the same thing trying to back my car into the garage. I thought it would be cool to have drive my car forward-out of the garage. $300 later, I had a new side view mirror.

OP, atleast you KNOW who did it and not pay out of pocket. Imagine if you were 5 minutes off in getting into your car.

for the record... in order to cause that much damage.. the other car would've had to been moving faster than the space could allow safely...

how do I know... I was going 5mph and smacked my pass side mirror and it didn't break... so I'd guess he was doing no less than 10-15

I mean. How close do you have to get to the car to hit the mirror? 4" max! That's wild.

Sorry to hear that man. People are dumb but luckily he only got the mirror.

That's why I always pull in my outside mirror when I park on a tight street. I'd highly suggest it since you live NYC. I can only imagine.
