Talking Show me your tint!

Just bought a 2007 TL Type S and I'm looking to tint the windows.

I just can't decide on how dark to go with it...

Please post pics of your TL with tint and let me know what % you went with.

Thanks!

^ That looks really good, especially with that slick Acurazine sticker!

Oh what I wouldn't do for a set of those!

15% all the way around, make sure they use mole skin and make sure they get the tint all the way back on the rear quarter windows. You can see in the trancemissions they did not, and you see that light gray strip at the back of the quarter windows.....

Sorry for the dirty car! Solarguard Supreme 28% tint all around. According to a tint meter I'm at 22% factoring in the factory tint in the windows. Mine will seem lighter due to the camel interior. Definitely get the moleskin and have the rear quarter windows done right, just like johnny--2k said.

I agree with what johnny--2k mentioned.
  • Moleskin (call around, if they don't know what it is, you probably do not want to go use them as your tint shop)
  • Tint way back on your rear quarter window. They will need to cut some of the rubber to get there, but it does not do any harm.
  • make sure they tint under your backup lights, do not tint around it.
  • make sure they know how to tint over the dot-matrix
  • I had a tint shop who wanted to cut the rubber seal instead of using moleskin, i do not recommend this.

Here is my WDP w/ Taupe Interior and 15% Madico Onyx all around.

Inside View of windshield and tinted window.

What color car and interior did you get?

I'm up for donating some cash for a sticker.. I'd like one on my back window. Mayb the moderators can setup another donation. Maybe we can setup a donation either for the site or some other good cause.

15% Rears, 50% fronts (No tinting is legal in Illiois on the fronts. So I went with a drastic difference just to keep the cops from thinking it's so dark).

I'd like some for the back windows like that on my 2G.
I know it's not the holidays or anything, but I think a lot of members are wanting these so we should definitely do it. That way, with us advertising, there will be even more members to get it in the drive next holidays. But I don't think everyone else that's already a member wants to wait that long.

Beware if Cops are Nazi's

I had 35% installed yesterday and it was a mistake. I WISH I got 50%. Cops around my area are FKN Nazi's. Make sure you won't get hassled.

Here is 35% all around.

darksom1, I've had less than "stellar" results from all the tint shops in NJ. Would you mind sending me the info on the shop that did your setup? I would probably drive to MD in a heartbeat if I knew there was a quality tint shop there and your tint job looks amazing!

Warning: Advertisement for darksom1's favorite tint shop coming soon! jk - they hooked my ride up too after darksom1 recommended them to me. The tint was done by Winners in Rockville, MD. I've also heard that they have a shop in Annapolis.

btw, darksom1, shouldn't that be Angela Basset on your nav screen since her name is Stella?

Yeah, but since the lady on our Navi or HFL has no face...you can imagine she's anybody! So, I imagine that Stella looks like Halle Berry! That's better than Rosie O'Donnel right?

Nah........your ride is hot!..........love how you cleared the lights, did you paint them black inside or are they accented around the bixenon lights?. Once again..........one of the top five hottest NBP TLs on Azine.

Thanks for the compliment! They are painted black, and the reflector is partially left intact to maximize the chrome/amber bulb output! They look even sweeter in person!

Maybe it is because I'm a newbie to the forum? I dunno... I changed my profile so that I can accept emails from other memebers though.

Can you try to send me an email with the tint info? I'd really appreciate it!
