yeah idk how long the issue has been known about, i just knew that i didn't want to be the one that had to fix it.
thanks man. it was a crazy game to say the least.
yeah i can't wait to see them, they should be here tomorrow sometime and i'm going to install them on saturday and also help a friend install his new XLR8 ISC coilovers.

-- Unpacked the lights.
-- Removed components.
-- Removed as much of the old adhesives as i could before opening the lights.
-- Opened the lights.
-- Removed all of the old Koito sealant as it gets contaminated with the secondary sealant, laid a fresh koito sealant in the channel.
-- Scrapped both secondary sealants, its like baked super glue and you cant go at it with dremel etc so small screwdriver is used.
-- Disassembled all components.
-- Washed the non-electrical components.
-- Front lenses got wetsanded, 400, 800, 1200, 1500.
-- Lenses got polished from the inside.
-- Took off halos, removed all adhesive.
-- Wet sanded the inside of the bezels.
-- Opened the halos, scrapped off all the old solder, resoldered the connections.
-- Cleaned the halo diffusers, epoxied everything back together.
-- Re-wired and re-installed the halos.
-- Took of LED strips.
-- Cleaned all old adhesive.
-- Re-installed new strips.
-- Noticed that some of the chrome on the chrome strip was bad, took them off, replaced with fresh strips.
-- Removed and replaced old CF overlays with new ones as the old ones had pealed off a bit.
-- Ran new wires from LED control module for the halos and LED strips out of the headlights.
-- Sealed everything back together.
-- Polished the front lenses, followed by UV clear and UV curing.
-- Applied secondary adhesive.
-- Reinstalled components.
So yeah, I think it might have taken more than 15 hours lol as I dont do it in one sitting and spread it out over a few days, a little bit of work here and there i.e. one task at a time .
Its a labor of love you can say.

Sometimes, you don't realize how much work goes into these things.
I was explaining the Audi-style LED's in my headlights to a guy today. His mouth was wide open. He just kept shaking his head as I explained the process we went through to get the headlights to look the way they do.

ok got the headlights back on the car over the weekend, re-wired a few things on my end and got everything fully operational. very happy to have these functional again. i didn't get to take many pics, all i had was my phone and it was dreadfully cold/windy on saturday. i'll get some proper pics this week.
also helped bmore07tls (john/custom interior guy) bleed his brakes with motul 5.1, install CF ASM sharkfin antenna, and progress rear sway bar.
wiring from headlights. +/- for LED strip and +/- for angel eyes/halos.

wires i had previously ran from headlight location to under steering column inside car, wired to 2 independent switches so that i can turn on the angel eyes and LED strip whenever i want.
