Re-Progression of Twigglius' 2006 TL (Updated 7/28/13)

MILES that is. LOL.

[/URL]
Took this picture last Thursday.

Bought the car new on December 26th, 2005 and it had 7 miles on it.

Picture of the car when it was brand new. Maybe a month old.

Bought some Racing Hart's and put my Tein SS all in the same day. You can see how old the picture is by the oldschool Motorola Razr.

At this point I still only had my Wheels, Tein's ASpec Kit and an Intake.

Then I was the test vehicle for the first XLR8 Exhaust.

I lived most of my life in the wonderful Sonoran Desert and always had a good backdrop for photos.

A lot has happened since these photos. Most all of these photos are 3-4 years old. Iv'e added XLR8 J-Pipe (I was also the test vehicle for his V1 J-Pipe), XLR8, HFC... I also ended up getting a tanabe Tour Medallion Exhaust. I loved the XLR8 Exhaust but when we had our son his room was right by the garage and it always woke him up. Wife use to get pretty pissed so I had to get the Tanabe.

Ended up getting RB rotors pads and SS lines and added Motul 5.1. Have done drana nd refills with D4. Had timing belt service done about 6 months ago and also added XLR8 Motor Monts when the TB service was done.

Replaced 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches. and added the CF CSL Lip Spoiler... No pics yet - I need to take some.

I also ended up getting the varrstoen ES1.1.2 BBS LM Reps - 19x8.5+34 and 19x9.5+34 in Hyper Black. Again, no pics. Ended up moving to St. Louis and life has just been a bit different for me. I haven't done a photo shoot in a few years.

Now that I am in St. Louis I have to deal with this BullShit. LOL!

^^^Couldn't sell my Racing hart's for a decent price so I ended p getting them Powder Coated Black. Ended up being an ordeal and overall bad idea. The guy that did them for me did ass terrible job. Well, when I first got them they looked great but now they look terrible and it's only been like 4 months. The clear on the lips is coming off and the lips are totally blackened and oxidized and they look awful.

Been searching for a new set of wheels to replace the other 2. Just have not decided what i want yet but when I do the other sets will be in the BM.

Anyway, that's a complete rambling of my 100K journey so far. Hopefully I will be more active and be able to update this more and keep modding.

I'd love to and I'm working on it. I need to get out of the house for a weekend. me and the soon to be ex Wife are still living together while I am looking for a new place. It's tricky at the moment.

Thanks man - Appreciate it. By the way I love looking at your Lego photos. And your car's front end straight on shots. It's like a big white money shot.

Absolutely gorgeous car and awesome journey with it!

I wouldn't have PC'd the wheels to begin with but you live and you learn That stuff can be sandblasted off if you take it somewhere.

Thanks man... Live and learn is one way to put. I have thought about stripping them and selling them to someone that has the time to make them gorgeous again.

I tihnk that's because you have black wheels. I'll have to post up some pics this weekend with the Samsung GS3 to update the look!

Appreciate the comment. I am amazed at how well I have kept the inside of the car. I am an OCD freak and 99% of the time I do not allow children in my car. 100% of the time I do not allow any type of animal. Shit, I barely let my wife ride in it. No matter how many times I tell her to not slam my door or put her feet on the dash, she still does it.

I have always loved Racing Hart wheels. Too bad they went under. I actually tought about contacting Memory Fab to have them rebarrelled in order to make them 19x9.5 and go with a more aggressive offset. My Racing Hart's are 2 piece so they would need to cut them a part and I can only assume that the cost would be just as much as buying some brand new wheels, if not more.

So here is a few more pics of random stuff I have done with the TL.

Decided to take the strut bar off, strip it and paint it. I also drilled holes in the top so I could adjust my Tein's. Here is my finished rattle can job.

Took off the Varrstoen's since I had the idea that my Racing Hart's needed powder coated.

When I got the Racing Hart's back they looked great.

2 months later they looked like this. and NO THAT IS NOT DIRT ON THE LIP.

and some other random pics and also pics from the frozen st. louis winter we had.

Finally - some Foamposite LOVE!

That sucks about the wheels... Thats what one winter will do. Now that you live in the snow belt I would ether buy a 2500 throw away honda civic or buy stock wheels with winter tires. I have the 2500 throw away honda coming this fall!

I have stockies with brand new DWS's, I just thought id be sneaky or maybe just lazy and keep the Hart's on. I've also thought about buying a bucket for the winter.

I am actually pretty close to ordering these in 19x9+30 and just getting rid of the other two sets I have.

Post pics of the Varrstoen's mounted. I'm curious to see how those specs look. I don't think I've seen those offered anywhere.

I am looking for a pic of my car with them. never did a photo shoot with them on. I think I have an overprocessed Instagram pic somewhere though. In the meantime check out this TL from the Varrstoen Website. Pics are not great but you can get the idea. And you are correct, you will not find those specs anywehre as they did not offer those offsets for very long. Seems like the least aggressive offset they offer at all anymore is +22. http://varrstoen.com/news/es-1-1-2-1...nd-polish-lip/

I got your PM. Those specs look great, I wish they offered them still. They look aggressive enough, but not enough to require a lot of fender work.

Got yours as well. They are probably cheaper than you think. And you can see how much I'm lowered... Maybe 2". No fender work at all to make them fit and they never once rubbed.

:::UPDATE:::

Decided to do some cleaning today.

Thought I would try this Turtle Wax Trim Restore out. Super easy to go on and wipe off. No effort at all. Here are a few pics after I applied and before I let sit and then wipe off the leftover jell residue.

Cleaned up the inside with some 303 and here is my 100,000 mile interior.

TOTALLY FUCKING REGRETED NOT GETTING NAV!!!

All I see is carbon. All I see is carbon fiber.

Headlights have been pretty neglected so I wanted to take care of that.

Here is the after. Lighting is terrible. I had the front end of the car in the garage and it was raining outside. You can also see the yellow fuzz on the car from the pad.

My helper.

And lastly, I applied this.

I know you're serious but here's my take on it. I've owned many real original wheels and a few reps. The reps have always held up as good as the real thing IME. As always YMMV... The wheels in most of the pics are Racing Hart's, not RH Evos. The Racing Hart's cost me almost 3x what the Varrstoen's did and have not been any better than the latter. Besides this thread isn't titled - what do you think of my wheels, need opinion on reps vs. Real... And you have what type of wheels?

Thanks Jelly. I have taken really good care and a lot of time on the inside. Looks almost new!

The divorce situation does suck but we do our best to stay friends. We have a 6 year old and 2 year old that we need to keep stable and happy. I actually found a place a few miles up the road and we've already worked out who gets kids on which days n' such.

On a side note - Do you Ohio peeps get together for meets? Most of my family is in N. Canton... Maybe I can find some time to head out that way later this summer.

How is the headlight protectant? I bought the same bottle recently but the weather has been pretty bad so I havent gotten around to cleaning my headlights.

I have the CF steering column as well and I love the shine of it during nighttime

Yesterday was the first time I have used the headlight protectant so I'm not to sure. The key is to apply it every month or so. Takes about 2 minutes to rub on and wipe off. I put on 2 coats as well.
