Couple small projects done today!

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I had a couple small projects done today. First up was my center armrest. The dn thing was hard as a rock and I finally
Got around to reupholstering it. Got 3m super 77 spray adhesive and 1/2" high density foam and got to work. Here's some pics. It came out A LOT better and softer than before.

Before, wrinkly leather:

New foam added and drying

End result:

Then I finally got around to installing my highly daughter after RDX caliper covers. Install was pretty easy and straight forward; used RTV and tape to hold while they were on. Honestly the back does loops a lot better than stock. But the front 5AT brakes on my car ha already been painted and had Acura decals so it was kind of a waste of money for me. But at $2.25 I'm not complaining.

For those of you who have already painted your calipers, it's
Not worth getting the covers. Of you haven't, then it might be worth it for you.

Here are some pics

...I'm guessing you meant highly SOUGHT after?!! Was that autocorrected?!

I did that to my armrest too...looks GREAT! BIG difference! And the brakes look amazing, IMO. Doesn't look like one of those big fake kits...looks classy.

Thanks! I got the BrakeMotive kit from our vender; coincidentally named "BrakeMotive" lol. I believe it was $145 for rotors and pads for all four wheels, and they're supposed to never rust. Idk why but I have a little rust on one of mine and have PM'd BrakeMotive to see whats going on/if there's any warranty. Either way, for the price you can't go wrong; everyone here on Acurazine is pretty happy with them.

Here's the thread:

Thanks! Haha yes I meant SOUGHT after lol. No kids for me! Damn autocorrect, I was bored in the car and was on my iPad. LOL

The armrest was an easy but very messy job; cleaning out all the old "foam" that was in there; what a sticky mess. Then the Super 77 crap is no joke; very strong and smelly lol.

The caliper covers overall I'm happy with. I haven't driven the car since I put them on; just hope they don't fall off! LOL. I've never worked with that RTV glue/sealant stuff...They only had the High Heat one in red so that was kind of annoying; you can sort of see some of it seeping out from behind the covers. My first choice would have been black RTV but they didn't have it in High Heat.

I think you'll be good...Steven just put covers on and they haven't fallen off either. If they do, I'm SURE you'll hear it!

Thank you sir^

Well this past weekend I didn't do a whole lot. Headed down to VA Beach on Friday to get some WORK done on the WORKs (lol). Ended up spending the night there and came back Saturday.

I hadn't driven the car since I installed the RDX caliper covers, but after a total of 500 miles round trim I'm confident that the RTV held up and will last a long time. They're not going anywhere

Then yesterday I finally got around to a long awaited mod. I think I'm officially the first one with a blacked out roof on a DGP

I got the vinyl on Ebay, and went with the Gloss Black 3m Scotchprint 1080 vinyl, 5ft x 8ft roll. It was well worth the money and it was pretty easy to work with. Ran into a few issues with wrinkles but I managed to smooth it all out. I didn't want to use a heat gun because if you don't know what you're doing its easy to mess up the vinyl so I used a hair dryer and that worked well enough.

Here are a couple quick pics I snapped with my iPhone. I will be covering the rear window spoiler as well and am thinking about doing the side mirrors to tie in the theme. I have plenty of extra vinyl

What do you guys think about vinyling the side mirrors?
Should I leave the spoiler body matched?

After

Also got some goodies in the mail Saturday

Coils

I would wrap the roof spoiler to match the roof but leave the mirrors alone.

^^Dang, didn't get in here fast enough, I would have said not to do the window visor cause it'll make it look like you just left it primered...but then, the DGP would break up the roof and rear window with tint.

I would do the mirror and if you hate it, remove it. Or don't.

Nice choice with the roof vinyl. Did you get the Work wheels done? If so, how did you like the final product?

Thanks! I'm loving the vinyl more and more everyday. I'm scared to wash my car for a while though haha. I don't want it to bubble up!

Haha I understand man. I've just been worried about corroded/broken bolts and other unforeseen issues we might have. But as I think about it, my springs were installed just 4 months ago so nothing "should" be seized and I'm hoping the bolts open right up!

Let me know when you're free! I'm free anytime but I'll be fasting starting Friday

Just got this my CoverCraft sunshade from AutoAnything.com week ahead of schedule. I chose the silver because none of the other colors were very appealing.

I haven't put it in the car yet but I'm sure I'll be very happy with the fit. Workmanship and quality looks very nice and it feels sturdy and strong

Only thing is I wish it said ACURA or something on it!

Updates are looking good! I was thinking about getting the Covercraft also, but a nice Acura design on it would be pretty cool.

Here are some updated pics of the car since the Vinyl'd roof AND pics of the sunshade in action

You can see there is about an inch and a half of gap on either side of the sunshade, but if it weren't there it would be a lot more difficult to get the damn thing in place. As it is now (slightly smaller than the window) its very easy to slide in and out of place. In the last pic the gap between the A pillar and the sunshade looks a lot wider than it actually is; the sunlight entering makes the gap look bigger than it is.

On another note, I have a lot of black vinyl left over so I am debating on vinyl'ing my window visors as well. They have a lot of ugly surface scratches and one has some sort of stain that looks like it could be from tree sap or something stupid like that. We shall see

Very nice, just ordered one too...the rollup one annoys me cause it hits my broadway mirror on the way in/out and is a PITA to roll up and isn't holding as rigid anymore. Might sell it for cheap to a buddy...still does the job but I want one of these.

I love your car, man...sex see.

Yeah dude; I was in the same position. I've had to literally roll down the windows and get out of my car before because its been so ridiculous. You should make good use of it! I'm hoping it helps.

Yes sir, its one piece. It was actually a pretty difficult job. I had my brother in law help me and he has some experience with vinyl. Had lots of wrinkles and what not to deal with but we used a blowdryer to heat up the vinyl which helps it to shrink a bit. If you pull it while heating it, it stretches.

If you plan on doing it you should pick up one of these vinyl squegees to avoid scratching the vinyl.

I got mine on eBay, I bought basically the best vinyl available "3M Scotchprint 1080" is what they call it. The roof is about 44-48 inches wide so I bought a 5 foot by 8 foot roll to be safe. Had plenty left over. It was around 90 bucks shipped.

Here's the link to the vinyl I bought on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/110906823839...84.m1497.l2649

Here's a pic of the squegee; I used one very similar to this:

Thanks! I love them but definitely need to get my ass to work. I will be polishing the lips and having the centers painted silver. The black, IMO doesn't flow well with my car.

Nothing! Haha. We've had really crappy weathe around here (hot and humid) and rain everyday. I didn't even get a chance to wash the damn thing. I did, however clean the rims (BBS Reps are on for now) and am really liking how the caliper covers look behind the wheel. I'll post pics later

Yup. I had to get a bend and some curbage repaired. Currently looking for someone/some place to get the lips polished since a couple of them have some pitting and get the black accents painted silver...But I will probably have to suck it up and do it myself though. Sucky.
