PROGRESS THREAD - 16 pictures

Hello fellow A-ziners. I've done a couple things to my car, performance and cosmetic, and decided to create a thread to show my progress.

2005 Automatic anthracite metallic STOCK

First mod: rv6 - v3 J pipe: 476$ (10 hp)

Next we have 3M window tint from Black Diamond Tinting 35% front 20% rear: 100$ (0 hp)

Then I installed the TL Type-S rear sway bar: 62$ (0 hp, better handling)

Up next I put in the DC Sports CAI from ultrarev.com : 126$ (3 hp, better sound)

Black vinyl, an exacto blade, 2 washers, and 2 screws (need bumper plugs): 10$ (0 hp)

AND FINALLY, I took 8 hours over 2 days to spray paint my STOCK brake calipers black with ceramic duplicolor caliper paint.

Thanks for the view!!

<3

RIMS!!! also idk about an A-spec body kit, because I've got 106k miles, and the paint is slowly fading. The kit wont match the colors I've got, but if i can find a used kit for under 500, then deal

also, vendors here can get you the entire aspec kit brand new shipped (your color) for under $750. I dont think the color will be off that much..

I really love the gunmetal grey TL-s rims, and I think they would go good with my car. Black rims are too cliche for me. I'm looking for each rim being under 150$ new, but I havent done much in depth searching for name brand rims. Im also looking to upgrade my stereo system. Amps and subs

Wow thats not bad at all, I'll have to look into that

nice progress. do coilovers before rims though. wheels with out a drop look goofy. i saw you said you didnt want to spend that much on wheels and you said you wanted a gunmetal color wheel. i painted my stock wheels gunmetal for cheap and they look awesome, especially with my coilovers/drop to compliment the wheels. so this might be a route for you if you want a different look for your wheels and want a drop also but dont want to spend a lot on new wheels

What exact paint brand/color did you use? I've been thinking about doing this.

A drop will make a night n day difference to any car. 06tl4life has one of the nicest looking tl on stockies ive seen. He pulled it off very well with his drop.

^what do you recommend for the drop?

I'm nervous about getting lowering springs for two reasons:
-I have a cold air intake that sits level with the bottom of my door.. I dont want to increase my chances of slurpin up any water..
-My family sometimes drives with me, 5 total people, (after some basic math, a combined total of 800lbs [including me]) and I dont want the wheel rubbing.

Also (i havent done much reseach on lowering springs/coilovers) they seem extremely expensive. 1000$ + atleast??

Im jobless yo haha
