JD, many people have plasti-dipped the wheels, seems to hold up pretty good.

We were on our way to the Fr3shMeet in Jersey yesterday when I decided to stop by Lowes an pick up a $5.98 can of Plasti-Dip. Let me start off buy first saying, I love the finish and the satin black... It looks exactly like the cap.
Project Time: 20 minutes [took my boyfriend longer to tape it then to lay it down]
Coats: 6 [We used an air-hose to dry it and it was a cool dry day...I imagine it would harder in more humid climates]
Then immediately after, I drove 75mph for 1.5 hours to Jersey.
Pros: If i don't like it, it peels right off. Its pretty hardy, I was rubbing some bug "nastiness" off with a microfiber and it didnt bubble or rip. Some killer sized bugs in DirtyJErz! It looks awesome!
Tips: Definitely make sure to leave yourself a small lip when taping and keep a razor on hand for the occasional snag that will end up ruining your project. The more coats you have, the easier it will pull off when dry.
I LOVE IT...enough to keep it on there for a week or so..lol what the worst that can happen? you peel it off! I'll be using plasti-dip on future projects as test runs.
