Never did the Zaino process before - I know nothing about it - how long to do and how long last - given an occassional rain etc?
thanks - it really looks unbelieveable, I have shown more people your car than I can count. I'm thinking my '02 TL (black) could use some of that when I get done with my 04 Anthracite TL.

Stupid Zaino Newb question for you joganjani, How do you know if your Clear Coat or "normal" paint?
I have a TL on order and I am trying to private party a 98 Civic EX. I was thinking of getting some Zaino now, and getting a few coats on the civic to help its appeal, as well as let me practice since i've never used the product before. If the Civic has a Clear Coat, I'm just going to buy the $80 kit to start with.
PS: What would you reccomend (#-#-#-#-#-#) for an abused paint job , as in never had much care aside from washing? It has alot of little scratches in the paint (black) and I took it in for a professional Waxing a month back but they didnt get rid of hardly any of the scratches.

For abused paint job, how abused it is? If you have a paint scrapped, Zaino will not help hide it. However, to protect whatever you have, you need to dawn wash then claybar and then Zaino. Read the thread I posted below. It also have a link to vffr1's more detailed Zaino process. All the best.

Nice job.
For everyone, is this the first new car that you wax on regular basis? My wife thinks I've gone brain damaged because I wax my '04 NBP TL so often. But, the reward is so sweeeeeet.
One item of a note - I'm starting to see the plastic at the bottom of the car fade a little. Anyone else?

ok you did like 8 steps.. meaning you did the whole car like times... doesnt that take up like 4 hours.... and why do u have to do all these.. can u just buy one waz component and do it once and take off? or will something happend to the paint? just curious.. i am really lazy and have been thinking of even paying 165 for wash, detail inside and wax...and even the leather conditioner..

As a new Zaino zealot, I wholeheartedly swear by their products. Nothing beats it. Take the time and do it. It took me about 7 hours to do my Anthracite TL and it looks amazing. Plus, you only do it once every 4-6 months so what is 6 hours in the long run? Also, I have noticed that once you have applied it, dirt doesn't like the car anymore. Even it if does get dirty, one quick wipe with a damp microfiber towel and it is clean again.
Case in point, yesterday I got hit with a bird's lunch. I was bummed because my previous car was nailed with a major nuclear bird crap once and it bubbled the paint so since then, I fear birds. Upon closer inspection, the crap had nothing to adhere to! I literally just wiped it with a dry microfiber towel and it came off like dust. It was crazy!
Also, follow joganjani's advice. He is the master.

PS. My process was dawn/dawn/clay bar/dawn/wash with Z-7/dry/Z-2/Z-6/Z-2/Z-6/Z-2/Z-6. (My wife thought I was nuts until I also did the process on her car.)

When I did first time it took 7 hours. To do it again it's matter of 4 hours every 5-6 months and weekly wash with Z6 spray is about 30 mins. It's worth the effort. If you are lazy you can take it for $165 for detailing but you never know what they use to wash and wipe your car. With NBP I'm very particular about what to use to wash, dry and detail and linear motions than rotations to avoid swirls.

Thanks Rmatic09, for the first time it took 6-7 hours now it takes me about 3-4 hours every 5-6 months. I'd say get it done ASAP since you've not sealed the paint yet. Also, I've never taken my car out for detailing so would not know what to recommend for the job done out. Actually it's pretty easy to do it yourself if you can spare some time and effort. Drop me a PM and I'll point you on this board to get further tips. Also it's very satisfying to do the job yourself.
