Photography/progress thread

Hello, my name is Bach, I am a self taught high school photographer and also the current owner of a 2005 Acura TL. I love this car to death. Unfortunately, it has a few problem need to be fix before i invest in a make over. So for now, it will mostly be a photography thread of my car and sometimes other TLs as well!

Feel free to give any constructive criticism and/or compliments!

Thank you! and nope, it was purely stock. I kinda photoshopped the black line there just to fill in the space and to make it look like to the 07-08...(great way to save money lol). As for the emblem, I plasti dipped those.

Probably be the first mod i do after repairs. Still kind of decisive though. I love to get my hands on lip kits first. Heard Acura are starting to discontinue productions.

Bach looks awsome! What's the mileage on yours? I just purchased a silver 05 last month. haven't done much to it other then plasti dip the grill and tail hate emblems. Next will be tints 20% and tails light tints as well. I also just joined acurazine.

Thank you! My mileage is almost at 83000 but the car had a been in an accident. (found out the hard way). Apparently not enough to be put as a salvage title. Just gotta live with it and fix it up. She runs so smooth despite of what happened and it's hard to let her go. Plasti dip is addicting lol I feel ya. And welcome! I'm kind of new too so it's okay!

Well doesn't seem like it was that bad. from the signs of the car he probably hit something or got hit on the driver side. Still kind of disappointed he wasn't straight up with the deal. Although I should've got it inspected. The only thing Acura is telling me to replace is driver side air bag and steering rack which has a little to no leak so I'm not gonna worry about that. other than that it's fine. And i think you should wrap the roof with Vinyl, give it more of a luxurious look than plasti dip...of course it would be a little more expensive but you still could remove it if you want

Plasti dip is love, plasti dip is life

To start off, yesterday was my last day of Junior year. So a bunch of sophomores thought it was funny to explode a flour or corn starch package by my car leaving my poor baby covered in it. Had to spend at least 2 hours cleaning it off. It was dried and hard as heck.

So the only thing i still need to get plasti dip in the interior is the middle console slots door and the shift area wood trim. Went ahead and removed the cover piece of the dash because i did not feel like taping and plus, I plan to put in a NAVI unit so it be good practice. most was easy, barely used any tutorial. Hardest part would be the cup holder and the slot door itself.

Process

Before and After - Just gotta re-dip the wood trim outside the shift nob because it was peeling like crazy. Didn't put it back in because it's a hell of a work to get out one piece.

Had the bumper remove for something - decide to just remove the mesh and the dip the center piece

Questions for you acuraziners

So while taking a road trip yesterday, I found out my brights wasn't on. It was dangerous driving because I was driving on a country road. So i thought something was not connect. Removed the bumper to see this...

There was no bulb!!

Q1. So, knowing me, why not get another one brighter than OEM. Any recommendations guys?

then there is this. After putting back together the door, I found out they're not aligned. properly.

Here is the screws part

Q2. Does anyone know how to fix this?

After putting everything back together, my Cassette won't recognize my AUX adapter. Sometimes, it will sit in there but won't play anything, then change to radio. Sometimes it will eject the adapter. Pushing The tape button doesn't even switch it over.

Q3.Does anyone know how to fix this or a Thread that does? I'm not considering a aftermarket AUX adapter yet.

Thank you guys

Yea that's my thing don't know how a flat black would look on the roof. But you should definetly go get it tinted! White with dark tints would look sweet!

It's a must on my check list! I'm just debating on what to spent on first though. I want to do a TL-S conversion with a 04-06 aspec front lip but that would run me over about 1.1k. I don't know though, I'll talk when i have enough money lol
and I don't think flat black would look good. It would probably make your car look like it's been paint peeled.

Yea I might go with a vinyl wrap instead I feel plasti dip can only look good on certain thing with certain cars... By the way how is that holding up on the interior? Looks good on the pics

It's awesome! downside was that my hands were dirty when installing back the parts so dust doesn't just wipe off on plasti dip. Gotta wait a few days for it to fully dry to clean it. Other than that, it looks like a Euro luxury car haha

Thanks! I was debating on the black too but the color just did't do the aspec kit justice for me. Regardless it is my opinion. You'll love the car!

Looks great was never a fan of the tan compartments the TL's have with the tan interior. One downside of plasti dip is that it stay tacky for a couple of days collects a lot of dust
