Thumbs up New Guy: 07 TL

Hey guys...I just picked up my 07 TL a couple days ago. I bought it as a daily driver, so I can finally use my mustang as a weekend toy.

I'm not going to be modding my TL since its my daily driver, and my mustang is my project...but I would like to add some personal touches, so lemme know if you guys have any suggestions. I definitely want to swap some HID bulbs in place of the driving lights and fogs...do you guys use ddmtuning for your bulbs? I have a ddm hid kit in my mustang. Also, I want to put LEDs in place of the license plate bulbs, do you guys use SuperbrightLEDs.com?

Thanks man...I have a love hate relationship with my mustang...but thankfully I have my TL now, so when my mustang gives me problems, I can give it the attention it needs.

Its gonna be hard to resist the mod bug with my TL...but I'm gonna try

Haha tell me about it...I've been modding my mustang for about 6 years now, and I can't stop. I don't want to void the sick warranty I have on this car tho...so I'll keep the mods subtle.

My mustang is already getting jealous, it started running like shit the day before I bought my TL, and when I went to put my top down, the top got tweaked and shattered my rear window!

Its sitting at a upholstery shop right now getting fixed haha

Welcome and congrats on the TL!

For adding HIDs some members use the DDM Tuning Modules. When it comes to bulbs, many members, including myself, use Kaixen bulbs. Just search around and see what people say about what they are using. I've used superbrightleds.com multiple times and I've never had a bad experience with them. It's hard to tell, but are your windows already tinted? If not you should hop on that asap

Even though you are keeping the TL mostly stock, I'm looking forward to seeing what else you have planned for the Mustang. There is a section of Acurazine called "Car Talk" where people discuss other cars and such. You should consider making a build thread there so you can show off the Mustang properly

Thanks man, the carfax on the car shows tint being added by the dealer who took it back from its lease...which was sold at an auction to the dealer that sold it to me. It looks like it has 35% on it. I have 15% on my mustang...but I doubt I'll be able to get away with much darker than 35 in NJ.

Cool to know about the Car Talk section, I have a VERY extensive build thread of my mustang on SN95forums.com, I'll be sure to make a thread here too.

If you have a love/hate relationship with the Mustang, switch and let the TL be your weekend pet project.

I've already tried that...for the past 6 years now my mustang has been my project car/daily driver...it does NOT work very well.

If you know anything about project cars...you know that you need to have a car to drive everyday while you are working on your project, otherwise you're going nowhere.

My mustang has no cats and an aftermarket catback...I have no need for a loud daily driver.

Congrats on the purchase! Never realized the 07-08 interior was quite a bit different from my '05.

Haha...I know, whenever I read people saying that I call BS...I guess I should re-word it and say I won't be doing any major mods to the car.

I already plan to tint it darker, paint my calipers bronze, swap in some ddm tuning HIDs in the fogs and driving lights, and some LEDs in the license plate bulbs. But thats IT...for now

Mods to come (I know, I know...I said I wouldn't mod it, but who am I kidding):

Lip spoiler
LED license plate bulbs
Bronze calipers and drilled rotors (I'm a sucker for clean looking brake setups)
8000k HID headlights/driving lights/fogs
Type S tails and side markers? Not sure if I'm sold on this yet.

Thats it for now

Hell yea man...I was strongly considering a WDP TL...but my sister's friend has a WDP TSX...and I couldn't bring myself to own the same color car as her. Plus, she would probably think its the same car too and we could be car buddies!

I fell in live with CGP though, its such a classy color, especially with a black interior
