This week I went crazy on the miles...Almost 2000 in all. The car will have 205,000 miles on it by tomorrow (headed to Augusta, GA) so they keep being added by the day.

I had to go install a new machine down in Pensacola, FL so I took the camera with me, jumped in the TL and headed south.

I first had to go up to the mountains of Murphy, NC to work on some equipment.....Beautiful place this time of year. This is just off of route 23 headed north at one of the overlooks.

The TL was cleaned that morning before I headed out...

OK, done with that job so I had the day to drive to FL. I stopped along the way to take some pictures of pictures I have seen so many times before..

West Point, GA you will find the Kia Motors factory...

Then I headed farther south and hit Alabama....

A little farther south I hit the Hyundai factory...This place was HUGE!!!

OK FL or BUST!!!

I drove to the Gulf Point, FL to see how the water looked after the oil spill. Didn't look too bad....The big bad bridge behind the TL. When the sign says Check fuel gauge before crossing, you know its a loooong bridge.

Then I kept south and checked out the Gulf and boy was BP cleanup everywhere. I was impressed with the amount of people that were out on the beach cleaning the mess up.

Pensacola Beach, FL

The TL and I enjoyed the white sandy beaches.....

I spy TL......

I drove my ass off Thursday and drove back home to Charlotte, NC and worked at my customers place located at the speedway.....

My customers rig being loaded up with the goods headed to Sturgis, SD...

The speedway up close and personal..

Concord, NC-

Thats all for now. As I see other places with the TL, I will post more pictures up for you guys. Thanks for the thumbs up guys.

Your TL has a beautiful stance. Tasteful mods, and it's not overdone. What % is your tint?

Thanks guys!

35% all around on the tint.....Legal in my state otherwise I would have done 20% all around.

Jon I this thread. It's weird seeing a TL almost identical to mine in all of the pictures though. I guess we just have good taste

I'm looking forward to seeing your car next month at the meet and also talking with you and your mini-me. Tell wifey to come! Mitzi will be there as usual

As much as I'd love to match your tint on my WDP, your neighboring state of Virginia insists on 50% in the front (which looks extremely unfavorable with the rest at 35%). We got away with illegal tint for a long time, but state troopers and local boys will pull you over for tint alone these days. I don't have the willingness to roll down the windows every time a cop's nearby! What to do...

Do 40% all around. Then it wouldn't be as obvious to the cops that it's darker than legal.

Edit: do they even make 40% tint?

Nice shots man. I just went through some of those same roads you did and took the same pics of the Ark sign and Tenn. Haha. I drove up from San Antonio, Tx. 2500 miles in a week on my TL-S. And it did great. Only complaint I had was the tires kept getting out of balance. Stock Michelin MXM4. Look forward to more updates.

I wish my commute involved driving even remotely near FL beaches.

I'm planning a road trip to S. FL from VA this winter for the second year in a row. I loved driving down there last year.

Nice ... Mine has just passes the 100k mark.
What king of maintenance issues have you encountered (besides brakes, spark plugs and TB) ? How many motor mounts have you changed ? What other problems ?

I love your threads.. reminds me not to go out and trade my car in.. lol .. I just hit the 100k mark.. I wish the original owners would have taken care of the car as well as you did and as I do. I see my car wearing down .. all these things keep breaking now.. ARGH...

What do you do for a living that makes you drive all over the place? and requires you to have a little tool box like that. It is a pretty sweet tool box tho..

Check page two in this thread......You seemed to miss the 25 foot long machines!

OK guys! I went up to the Baltimore area about three weeks ago and look what showed up in my mailbox today!

A picture of the TL and a 40 dollar ticket....Funny considering I use Photoblocker spray on my plate. Oh well! They got me going 62 in a 50. Guilty as charged so I sent it off to the state. I think they call that "Visiting Tax."

Good clear pics If I do say so myself.....Technology can be a bitch!

Took a trip in Boone, NC on 421 West.

Christmas tree farms for miles!!

Took the country way into Johnson City, TN

The a little bit down the road, I saw a real working Drive-In movie.....

For the younger kids who have never seen one....Park your car, hook up the speaker to the window and bam! Instant crappy screen! I wonder if this is Blue Ray

OK, done in Johnson City........ Next stop Nashville!

LP field!

Folks watchout while driving thru maryland via I-95. They got my parents at night around a construction site which NO ONE was working at. Go figure...

Either way, good lucking TL and hope to see you around in my neck of the woods!

Hey Jon it's nice to know that your TL is reliable like that.

I have a 2007 TL-S with 54k and presently a blown engine, which Acura wanted $12k for. Luckily I finally got them to cover the whole thing since it is under powertrain warranty till 60k. I'm in shock that it happened so close to the expiration of the powertrain and am thankful for Acura's customer service. I don't know what I would've done if I had to shell out that kind of dough after 60k. It's times like these where keeping all your service documents come in very handy.

Not to scare anyone but my car is 100% stock and I perform the vehicle maintenance spot on...as indicated by all my records. I actually bought this car to be my reliable daily driver....so much for that.

I called my honda tech and he said no good on the side work and that I would have to take it somewhere else.....So, I started to think, the car has 215k, what should I do. Put all the work into it and then drive it till the next one needs to be put in at 330k. I loved the car to death!!! I almost cried when I watched it drive away.....I even video taped it leaving...It was a sad day for me.

Well, here is the story......

I have been looking at a new body style GS 350 for about a year. My friends fiance had bought one and always wanted an suv so he gave in....He called me up, we made the deal....So now I have a car with 215,000 miles on it. Yes its modded and yes its clean but not many people are gonna buy a car with this milage no matter what it looked like. I decided on 8k firm and let it go quick and boy I had no idea how fast it would sell. I took the stereo stuff out but I left everything else in. I don't have stock wheels, nore was I messing with konis that had 140,000 miles on it and I wasn't taking my 40 dollar dvd player out and my 35 dollar backup camera out. So I sold it complete. I know to ask more next time.

I'm sorry to end this thread. 215,762 miles is what the car had it when I sold it to Cory. He picked up today and its going to a good home in Martinsville, VA and it will continue to be garage kept. I am up that way for work from time to time so I will pop in to see what he has done to it. He only drives 5-10k a year so I can't see this cr getting much higher in the miles. He has a name on here (just signed up) as corcraft

Congrats Cory and take care of my car like I have for the past three years!!!

OK, here is a picture of my new office! 2007 GS 350 45k miles CPO with every option, Adaptive cruise, parking assist, rear shade and the all important and hard to get 13 speaker Mark Levinson stereo system that is purr bliss to my ears. Gonna bring this one past the 300k mark....Where do you go from here?
