My First Project

Hey everyone, This is my first time posting but definitely not my first modded car. Either way, I picked up this 2005 Tl with only 41K miles on it for cheap. This is my first mod on the car (other than tint, but who counts that) and I am actually pleased with the results.

Goals:
Blackout Headlights
Blackout grill with floating emblem
installation of AEM CAI
Polish headlights when reinstalled

let me know what you guys thing. I am looking at coilovers and some 19s next, so the car should be looking a lot better soon.

before: hazy headlights

before: hazy side

bumper off, intake taken out

bumper off, no battery or intake

painting grill and headlight parts

removing amber and getting ready to reinstall

putting back together.

close up of headlights.

Nice work! Kinda late now, but you should've looked into replacing the amber diffuser with the clear Type-S version. That way the corner light is distributed more evenly and it hides the actual bulb.

Finally working on the Stance.

Me and a buddy rolled all the fenders before the install. Everything worked out pretty easy and straight forward. Installed Form & Function Type 2, Skunk 2 upper control arms, Ingalls rear lower toe in/out arms, and the SPC upper rear camber arms. Love the way it looks, but it still rubs too much so I'll have to raise it a bit.

adding some progress pictures of the TL.

Finally raised it and got an alignment. Had to get smaller front tires due to the rubbing, but it handles like a champ now. While working on the suspension, I noticed the front compliance bushings and will need to replace soon. Probably get the PCI from Heel Toe later this month. Marcus took care of me on the other parts. Will probably also pick up the RV6 strut tower bar at the same time so I can adjust the damper on the coilovers easier.

She is really nice to drive now, had to grind off a little on the back lip so the 19s wouldn't rub on the larger bumps. loving it now.

figured i would post pics of the fender roller so I can get my 5th pose and be a real member. Bought it on Amazon with the heat gun. Also bought some Carbon Fiber Di-Noc that we used on my buddys 300gs to cover up the wood paneling inside.

had to grind the back fenders on the GS 300, the TL was much easier to do.

new Form and Function Type 2s

3M Carbon Fiber Di-Noc for my buddies GS

before/after blacking out the headlights and grill

threw in a pic of the old whip for fun. f-ing great car.

no name heavy duty fender roller and head gun. worked great once we figure it out. the bumper tap on the front bumper was the only real issue

You got rid of the S2k and bought a TL? I did the exact opposite The TL was a great car but not nearly as fun as the S2k.
