In my understanding, The 04 Type-S was simply the 6mt.

A-Spec kit should be next and a switch up on the wheels. Not a fan of those at all.

Every time I go in for parts/service the dealer asks if its a 04 Regular or Type-S. I even had a salesman come out and comment on the TL and he called it a Type-S.
I have never read anything in stone but I'd assume from what I've heard, 04/05 6mt's would be categorized as Type-S.

Regardless if that's true or not, I must continue to specify my 04 as a Type-S to my dealer so I can receive the correct parts

So somewhere between not owning the car, owning the car, and modding the crap out of it, you failed to even know what car you drive??? That's pretty embarrassing if you ask me.

To all you guys saying tis not a type-s, I've heard many times where the service department/sales at my dealer refer to the 6mt of the 04-06 models as the type-s. I kept my mouth shut and didn't say anything but snickered. It seemed like alittle trickery to entice someone into getting the 6mt. So i'm sure the OP was just one of those people told that just because it was a 6mt that it was a type-s. Also some insurance carriers label the 6mt as a type-s in their ratings..........

If you specify to the dealer that you need a type S bumper replacement, you'll be royally screwed. Get it straight mang!

nice car!

but you've been tricked on the type s. i hope they didn't charge you extra cash when you bought the car, but then again, even your dealership thought it was a type s. totally weird or totally dumb dealer?

Work S1's are a trip... No workie on the TL.

They remind me of Brock B1's... Both belong on slammed VeeDub GTI's

Yea man, sorry but the 04-06 MT is just that, a manual. It is not a TYPE-S. You know what you could do, call some other Acura dealers and ask if they have an 04-06 TYPE-S or can get you one.

the rims are sick but they don't work in chrome. i think it'd look a lot better if they were black or even colormatched to the car.

Those are some fat tires man, how wide are those?

What you need is an A-spec kit and debadge it, that'll sharpen up the car a lot.

i totally agree; work s1's are the fuckin' shit.

i'm thinking it's cause he lacks the a-spec kit; really offsets the wheels

I think the ASpec kit would bring really bring out your car more with the S1s.

6spd FTW!!!

In light of my unknown misunderstanding, I followed up with some research and found that Honda did not label the 04 a Type-S. I stand corrected.

Just for the records, I called 3 other Acura dealers on my lunch today and asked for front brake pads. All 3 referred to my 04 as a Type-S. That makes 4 misinformed dealers. Moreover, Just a simple google search for 04 Type-S turns up pages upon pages of sites (some very credible) about the reviews and information of an 04 Type-S.

Weird...

In picture 2, my spokes and inner barrel clear my calipers by 1mm
You can somewhat see the offset in the third picture

It's been resolved. I stand corrected.

I'm going to do a 3.5 swap and then repost this thread. Same headline.
