My '04 5AT SSM

I wish I had more pics from when I first bought it, but only a few after I got the windows tinted. But here is my very short progression thread, from last september (09/15) until today.

As of now, 35% tint on the sides, 20% on the rear. K&N drop in with resonator removed and "cheap CAI" mod using intake res parts. Mid muffler and res delete, H&R Sport springs on stock struts, StopTech drilled and slotted rotors and carbon ceramic pads, DEPO clear sidemarkers, Spoiler King "duckbill" spoiler. BFG G-Force Sport A/S (Because winter in Pa is more bipolar than my ex) in 255/40/17s.

Not shown, new Morimoto 4500k low/high beams, Morimoto 6k fogs. Winter wheels painted SSM with snow tires.

Cars coming along pretty decent. You definitely have to do something with that front bumper though. It kills the look.

I know, being an adult is the only reason it isn't already painted, I'm getting married this summer and paint repair has taken a backseat to everything else. In good news, my wedding and honeymoon are almost paid off!

(I doubt she will see this-a justice of the peace marriage would have been great in exchange for boost/nitrous or paint repair)

Just kidding honey I love you!!!

Fair enough. Painting a front bumper properly isn't cheap. Not here anyway. All our paints are water based now, which costs more, and the painting process takes longer lol.

Not a bad start. Drop looks good. Now that you have lowering springs, it's time to part ways with those mud guards. Or at the very least, color match them. Overall nice work!

Agree. It actually looks like the body-side moldings are ASM, while the car is SSM? Regardless, I think the general consensus from other threads is to nix them.

+1 on the bumper paint, but I feel your pain on the cost - just had a bumper painted and it was a pretty penny.

Keep going! excited to see what you do next.

They were on the car when the father in law bought in new in '04, so I'm thinking it's just how they look in pictures. Either way, never even considered taking them off, but the Mud flaps are coming off next week so I'm going to look into it.

Thanks for the comments guys!

It's pretty easy to take them off. just a hair dryer, some fishing line, and window cleaner. you may want some thick work gloves too, since the fishing line can hurt your hands.

warm them up (multiple times as you go), apply window cleaner to help reduce friction, and then 'saw' the BSM away from the car with the fishing line. Once they're off you may want a clay-bar/detailing spray to remove the glue and clean up the area.

Here's a DIY. the pictures have been un-hosted, but you dont really need them.

Cars looking good man, agreed with the others on the mud flaps and BSM. I used to run those BFG's g-force sports and loved those tires, good choice! looking forward to see your build up!
